Monette, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Hello I started reselling in 2016 with Poshmark. I joined the app and started listing my own items from my closet noticing that I was selling and making money. I then focused on growing my business and being a full time reseller. No go thrifting, yard sales, estate sales and online shopping for inventor to flip at 20x the amount I paid. I started growing a following and now I have over 450,000 followers. I have been featured on Poshmark many times, also been a speaker at a huge event. I now have a business that makes me 6figures staying at home. It’s hard to believe but if I can do it so can you.
List your items on the app, share your closet and interact with customers. Stay dedicated and focused. I’m going to be featured on Channel 2 news in August and plan on many more events. I’m a stay at home mom of three and I have built my dream job.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t always easy. It takes time, dedication and focus to make it. You can just say it will happen overnight; it takes you wanting to do it. My biggest challenge is finding inventory that makes huge profits. You want to sell items that you know will make you money. Name Brand Clothing, Shoes, handbags, accessories, etc…
Poshingwithmona – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a stay at home mom turned fulltime reseller. I sell clothing and many other items online to make an income. I used to make $100 a week not I make a six figure income a year. I have built and earned a following of great people and followers. I try give advice and help everyone any way I can. I’m proud of how far I have come in four years. I’m now a well-known reseller, get featured in multiple platforms, paid advertising and I’m living my dream. I always said I would never work for anyone and it’s happening.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment is my children looking at me with pride. The income I bring in now is so overwhelming and amazing that it surprises me daily. Being asked to speak at event, being featured on the news, being able to buy our dream because of my business building a following of half a million followers is just WOW!!
