Ms. Q, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Society conditioned us to believe the only way to succeed was to go to college and work a 9-5. I attended Shippensburg University for three years majoring in Psychology. I realized the beauty industry was my passion once it began to take up majority of my down time. That was the moment I found my purpose to serve on earth. I prayed about my next move, and I cautiously looked up beauty schools, and I choose “Tony & Guy hairdressing academy” located in Philadelphia, PA. I graduated in 2015 and started my business in 2017. After establishing myself in Philadelphia, I knew it was time to elevate. I decided to relocate to Houston, Tx in 2019 to pursue my dreams.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Many try to be in the lane of an Entrepreneur, but this is a road no one is prepared for!!! Long nights and early mornings should be the definition of a Boss. Honestly, I don’t see it any other way, when you truly love something the time and money invested should be a priority.
Beautiful Rebel Hair – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Beautiful Rebel Hair is not just a business. Its an experience full of positivity and pure talent that allows you to “Express your Beauty” We provide custom made wigs, cultural braid styles from all over Africa, and Fashion Avant-Garde styles (Runway Hair). We pride ourselves mostly on customer service and embedding confidence in every women, one style at a time. Additionally, we are a mobile business that offers personal cosmetology services.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Being a sponsor for Eyeconic Television 2nd Annual Gala was the best moment so far!!!! Being able to support another establishment brings great joy to my heart.
