Today we’d like to introduce you to Myrna Hagelsieb.
Myrna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
From my passion for home design and my NATURAL innovative spirit was born, NATURAL BY HAGELSIEB, this is a concept of decorative items for spaces in the home and office, created 100% by hand using a natural material, CONCRETE.
I started making concrete planters for my family and me, I have always been amazed about this material, My dad used to work in a cement laboratory, and I remember how excited it was to hear his stories about everything he can do whit this marvelous material, so after that I tried to make different products, frames and magnets where the next, at first the mix I used to use it was good but not enough for me, so I worked for months, I spent hours and hours using my garage as laboratory to get the best concrete mix.
After two years now, I have more than 20 different products in eight different colors, and every day I’m waking up thinking in the next one.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I was born and raised in Mexico, life brings me to new adventures and with these new opportunities to explore my creativity. When you do what makes you happy, the road is to easy to drive, but I can tell you, one of my challenges is communication; first, learn a new language it had been hard to me and with this, I’m a scenic afraid person, so you can barely hear me or see me in front of the “cameras”.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Natural By Hagelsieb – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I love to find the natural beauty of everyday things, add a creative touch, and adapt them to the new designs’ needs, including in each piece a cultural and innovative touch that makes them unique.
All my concrete products are 100%handcrafted; after a lot of research, I designed a new and improved concrete mix to be shaped into some designs without losing its natural look and individual appeal.
I create each piece 100% by hand, and every item is a unique work of art, and no two are exactly the same, so you can be sure that you’ll get an exclusive custom product.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I always see myself creating in the future; this is the favorite part of my work, think about something new and make it, I can’t stop doing it.
and definitely would like to share my products with everybody, expand my brand and give my products the opportunity to travel and be a part of new homes around the world.
