Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadia Almualem.
Nadia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Well, since I was in third grade, I was always prideful into following my dream and becoming big as a model – I would always say “I will be on magazines, Academy Catalogs.” Growing up, I praised the women on the big screens, runway fashion show on TV’s, and VictoriaSecrets magazines… I finally grew enough courage to start asking around photographers (that’s how I started to grow my own platform/portfolio) within enough time, hard effort/work, I started to progress in photos and also get into acting… it took two years to finally become experienced from working with Alphalete (gym brand-Houston/Stafford based) to FashionNova or acting-wise I’m featured in Tyga’s new music video “Swap Meet.” I’ve worked me to be a brand of versatility by doing fitness shoots, lifestyle, editorial, high fashion, you name it!! Till this day I’m still growing and hope to proceed higher in my modeling career… I will never stop!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There will always be obstacles in the way when trying to make it big in my passion… one big “flaw” would be my height… unfortunately. I’m 5’6″ which is considered “short” but that doesn’t stop me at all. It’s hard when you just don’t “fit” no one likes rejection, but it’s a part of life since we all are trying to be something and in this industry what I’m trying to be it’s pretty cut throat.. you just have to see yourself as a gem and as God by my side, I will continue moving and growing strong fulfilling my dreams!
Model – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a model/actress… since I’m more than one ethnic group (half Hispanic/half Arab), I try to be as versatile as possible with my shoots as well as with my work. I can go from fitness to Bollywood from high fashion to lifestyle in a matter of seconds! What sets me apart is further than the obvious (which is my physical appearance) but my spirit, my personality… I have a rare energy I love to spread to others because that’s what God wants. He wants me to remain positive and I’m leaving with whatever happens with my life… even if something negative interferes in my life, you kill them with kindness and pray for them. I walk in the path of God and I’m passionate about my work, I want to succeed so bad and help others with me fulfill their dreams!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Just always getting to learn and grow! I think getting to work with Young & Reckless as well as landing in the rapper “Tyga” new music video is one of the greatest moments I’ve had… it’s all hard work I have to put in, so anything that comes out of modeling/acting from me is a proud and happy moment! It drives me to continue my hard work and success.
