Meet Naomi Saint Germain-Lucien of The Gathering Nook

Today we’d like to introduce you to Naomi Saint Germain-Lucien.

Hi Naomi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I would say I got here because I am truly passionate about seeing women win, especially women in leadership and entrepreneurship. I have always wanted to become an entrepreneur and truly believe it’s my place in the world. After leaving my executive-level position in Corporate after 12 years. I would say I’m a serial entrepreneur as I have had a few other ventures before starting my Coaching and Consulting business working with women entrepreneurs which lead me to start a community for Women called The Women’s LeadH.E.R Collective.

As a business owner and an entrepreneur, you need to know when to take a risk and when something is worth the risk or not.  As an entrepreneur you also need to know when to Pivot. Pivoting can sometimes be scary but it’s necessary for your business to grow.

When I opened the Women’s LeadH.E.R Collective as a co-working space for women I did not know what the future held for my type of space as there are not many unique spaces like mine in the Woodlands area. Since opening, we have morphed into a space not only for women but for ALL.

With months of hosting tons of different groups on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis as well as tons of weekend events. I had to decide to pivot my original plan that I was so passionate about to really meet the demand of the people coming into my space. So I decided to separate The Women’s LeadH.E.R Collective and from that birthed THE GATHERING NOOK a unique space for all to gather.

The Women’s LeadH.E.R Collective is now more of a membership community for women where we meet online and in person for various events.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being an entrepreneur and starting and running a business is never easy but if you’re passionate about what you’re bringing to the world, then It will all be worth it in the long run.

To say what has been the biggest challenge I have faced would probably be the pivoting of my business. A lot of times we are so invested in one way and how we want the business to grow that we sometimes don’t want to change that vision to grow as well.

I started my co-working space as a space for women entrepreneurs because I am so passionate about seeing more women become leaders and start their own businesses.

Yet I had to sit back and think and look at the overall picture and noticed that I was getting tons of bookings for meetings and events. So I would say pivoting has been the biggest challenge but once I placed all the proper people and procedures in place to pivot it was smooth sailing from there!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The Gathering Nook is a unique work, meeting and event space located in The Woodlands/Spring TX area and is part of the Creative Co-op community which sits on a 4-acre campus. Here, you can enjoy beautiful scenery and nature walks or just enjoy the scenery..

How do you define success?
Placing your mark on the world and creating positive change. When you think of a mark, that’s something long-lasting and that’s what I see as success. It’s in the impact I make within the lives of those I meet, big and small. I don’t look at material things too much anymore as those things don’t last, they don’t leave a mark and they are not long-lasting. So If I have impacted someone’s life for the better or empowered them to do more than they thought they could then to me is true success. These experiences are long-lasting and leave a mark of positive change for years to come.
