Meet Natasha Reyes of Fitt Life Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Reyes.

Natasha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Fitt Life Fitness has been going strong for 10 years. When Fitt Life Fitness started 10 Years ago, Personal training was just coming around. I found a window of opportunity to spread my knowledge with as many people as possible, by sharing what I knew, and what I loved in the simplest ways. Simplicity breeds success. I wanted to educate those that have no clue, that health and nutrition is not as hard as the world makes it seem. There are too many people who have absolutely no idea how to eat, what to eat. They also lack the psychology of time efficiency in the gym; not their fault.

I knew that I could not work for a corporation, for I would have to follow their guidelines. Therefore, I created Fitt Life Fitness. My primary focus was to keep the “Personal,” in a personal trainer, so that I would have long relationships with every person who came into my gym. I wanted to make sure they understood that fitness was a lifestyle and that it took time and commitment to have a new learning and understanding that it’s not as complicated as people make it. “If You don’t make better decisions early on to make better choices and commit to better choices things will never change for you. Everything good in life comes from commitments, and the most important person you can commit to is yourself!”

My other focus was to set off a spark within each individual. The same spark that was lit within me when I found my first location. During my research of finding solutions for my clients, I realized something was missing. Much of Fitness industry disseminates information on programming for those that are overweight, older, and those with busy careers. They didn’t consider, at the time, not much even now, that some people have to take it easy; and many have a limited amount of time for the gym.

Everything was too complicated, inaccurate, and some of it was dangerous for any individual. My goal was to restore exercise psychology, simplicity, and bring a type of, “fun” to the industry I love. People should want to be active and healthy and have an understanding that working out isn’t a punishment, it’s a privilege. Dedicate half an hour a couple times a week; and taught people that their bodies are made to move, not to be confined in a machine, expecting results for an everyday living. So I taught them to workout using just their body weight, and little to NO weight.

Fitt Life Fitness Grew every two years. We now have a larger facility and multiple trainers. We have created an environment where people don’t feel judged or intimidated. Our trainers believe in the same principles and live by their teachings. We all have an understanding of Fitt LIfe that human behavior doesn’t fit into neat little boxes, and everything needs to be individualized. No 8 week, 10-week program exist here. Our success stems from having an understanding of empathy and psychology to get to the root of the individual’s problems.

Our clients have an understanding that working out isn’t just for the physical benefits, but mental benefits as well. It’s important for them to focus on how working out makes them feel instead of how it makes them look. We also feel using the holistic approach has given individual solutions to our clients and have really helped to upgrade their life.

What you put in your body and what you put in your mind, is what counts. We want to improve each and every person’s quality of life. We are advocates of Prevention and Wellness! We are still going strong, continuing educating many individuals, and transforming a life! We have high hopes that with each transformation, that person will go on a path to encourage others, that they too can do it!!!

Has it been a smooth road?
The Road is only as difficult as ones psychology towards life. I embrace failures along the way. I embrace challenges. It has helped me to become a great teacher, coach, mentor, trainer.

We all have challenges, and obstacles, through any journey we decide to take. If I had to choose one, it would be, the difficulty of finding like-minded individuals, who truly value the gift of guiding others towards a healthy lifestyle change.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Fitt Life FItness story. Tell us more about the business.
Fitt Life Fitness is one of the cleanest, most humble, friendly, comfortable gyms to ever walk in. The clients proudly contest that. As mentioned earlier, we individualize everything we do. We teach along the way so that the client has a clear understanding of why they are doing what they are doing, and how to continue it on their own. We are great listeners and it’s our clients who dictate the atmosphere, the hiring of new trainers, to the music, and any new ideas brought to the facility.

We are one big family! We can proudly say we have a lot of clients who have been with us for 6 plus years! Teach people about the longevity of their life and not short term. Have empathy and understanding that not every person is alike and will find comfort in various ways. Live by your teachings and stick to the holistic ways of life. We believe as professionals, that it’s our duty to stay in shape 365 days a year, show or no show, time off, or no time off.

The industry today has lost its primary focus, which is the average person! The one that doesn’t care for abs in six weeks gimmick, doesn’t care to compete and doesn’t care to take banned supplements. The one that just wants to feel good, look good and be around for a long time. Those are the people we cater too, and we invite to our facility each and every day. We teach simplicity.

Personal Training is our primary focus, however, the gym is open 24hours, 7 days a week for the clients to come in and do their workouts on their own. We have the Myzone heart straps that the clients wear during each session, and are able to see how hard they are working on the TV. Monitors. We Provide Nutrition Plans, not Diet Plans. We also provide Health Seminars, continuing to educate!!!

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see the industry changing in many ways. I see the boutique gyms sustaining, and growing in multiple ways. I see corporate gyms being a less demand. People will start to have an understanding more so that they just need their body weight and few things to maximize their goals.

Thanks to Pilates, yoga, gymnastics, track and field, functional training, hitt, etc, the proof is in the pudding. Fitness Equipment will be less of a demand. Personal training will always be needed. Nothing can ever take away the personal attention and individualism that personal training provides. Group Training, classes, will always be around and continue to grow in various forms.
