After my move from Minneapolis to Houston, I began exploring this amazing city that is rich with numerous business opportunities and possibilities. As I became a part of the community, I enjoyed living like a Houstonian, indulging myself into the most flavorful aspect of the city’s “it” restaurants. Houston has a lot to offer when it comes to different taste buds and for the foodies like myself, it is a food paradise. As the circle of my acquaintances expanded, I made few friends in the food industry and I saw a new perspective that eventually brought a new idea to life. Hundreds of local restaurants are competing with one another over the quality of meals, design, location and many other aspects. It can be very difficult to maintain the costs of running an eatery with the existing competition in the city.
Needless to say, the advertising costs are out of budget for most small businesses. I decided to make an input in the community and try to aid local restaurant businesses by launching an app called DineDeal. The purpose of this app is to advertise restaurant’s menu specials and offers to customers that are interested to see all the local deals. DineDeal is free for restaurateurs as well as for the app users and is an easy, not contractual way of advertising a business. I get asked frequently “what is the catch?” and I respond that DineDeal will be incorporating advertising option for other businesses in the future. At the moment, I am busy adding restaurants to the platform of the app and striving towards its growth. I hope to see Houston’s enrichment of businesses and prosperity of people as one community where we can all elevate the ones around us to a greater success.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The challenge was to introduce a new idea to business owners that are used to traditional ways of advertising-coupons, magazines, newspapers, etc.

DineDeal App specializes in promoting family-owned restaurants for free with the goal of helping small businesses to grow sales. I am proud to say that the main goal is not to earn but to help small businesses grow. DineDeal is unique in a way that it offers instant discounts or offers to customers, and the partnering restaurants are not obliged to sign contracts or pay membership fees. It is easy to request the enrollment as it is easy to ask for the removal from the app, all depending on the business.
What were you like growing up?
I was a quiet child with a wide range of interests that I was constantly exploring. I was always trying to find a new hobby, sign up for a new course and explore what I like the most. I would say that I am happy I started out exploring my interests as a child, it helped me to better form myself as an individual. I got to learn what I like and what I don’t at a younger age. However, interests constantly change, so it is a never ending learning experience.
