Meet Nico Daily of Tigerhawk Logistics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nico Daily.

Hi Nico, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Indonesia, moved to Singapore for high school when I was just 13, and then headed to the U.S. for college and work. I’ve kind of been figuring life out on my own from a pretty young age, but with the constant love and support of my family every step of the way. My dad, mom, and the rest of my family have truly been my rock. My dad especially has always been my best friend, mentor, and biggest cheerleader.

Being thrown into different environments early on forced me to learn how to adapt quickly. Whether it was moving countries, adjusting to new cultures, or just learning how to be independent, I’ve had to figure things out fast. And honestly, that adaptability has become one of my biggest strengths, it’s shaped who I am today.

There’s a whole other wild story about my adoption and my unique family tree (definitely one for another time!), but all in all, it’s been quite the ride. Now I’m based in Houston, loving life, and living my version of the American dream.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has definitely not always been smooth, but it has always been exciting and rewarding. Along the way, I’ve made plenty of mistakes and faced challenges that tested me, but each one became a learning experience. Those struggles taught me valuable lessons, helped me grow, and ultimately shaped me into who I am today. They also forced me to develop a tough skin because in business and in life, you have to be able to take the hits, adapt, and keep moving forward. Looking back, I wouldn’t change it, because even the tough moments made the journey more meaningful and fun.

We’ve been impressed with Tigerhawk Logistics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Tigerhawk Logistics is an asset-based logistics company right here in Houston. We’ve got over 25 trucks on the road and more than 400,000 square feet of warehouse space, and we specialize in imports and exports moving through the Port of Houston. In short, we move a lot of freight and we make it happen fast and efficiently.

I’m the President and Co-Owner of Tigerhawk, and my good friend (and business partner) Ian Vollers is the CEO and majority stakeholder. Honestly, Ian is the guy to write about. He’s a true entrepreneur and one of the greatest people I know. Without him, Tigerhawk wouldn’t exist. My role is to focus on the big-picture goals of the company and make sure the vision Ian puts forward actually gets executed across all departments.

What makes us special? Hands down, it’s our people. We’re proud of the team we’ve built, they’ll go up against any other logistics team and hold their own. Everyone here brings a “we’ll figure it out” attitude, and that’s what makes the difference. Tigerhawk isn’t about one person, it’s about a group of people who buy into the same mission and work together to make it happen.

At the end of the day, we’re proud of the culture, the hustle, and the fact that we’ve built something real as a team. That’s what Tigerhawk is all about.

How do you define success?
Honestly, I look at success as the little wins stacking up over time. It’s seeing the team buy into the vision, watching everyone push through challenges, and then celebrating when it all comes together. Success is when customers trust us, employees believe in what we’re doing, and we can laugh about the bumps we hit along the way.

On a personal side, it’s also being able to provide for my family, enjoy time with them, and know my son is growing up watching me chase big goals. To me, success is about building, learning, messing up, bouncing back, and having fun doing it.
