Today we’d like to introduce you to Nima Heydarian.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born and raised in Iran. When I was 18 my family immigrated to the U.S. and settles in Harrisonburg, VA. I studied engineering and have been working in industrial automation for the past 9 years. I’ve lived in Houston’s 1st ward for the last 5 years and love the neighborhood. I drive to Clearlake for my day job every day 45 minutes each way. When I come home I work on my side business Heritage Law Marketing, manage a small Airbnb business, and spend time with my girlfriend.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been a roller coaster of making mistakes, learning from them, and moving one step at a time. For me personally, it’s hard financially to pay employees and expenses without getting paid myself while paying my six-figure student debt and mortgage and life expenses. Finding enough hours in a week in a challenge. I use a productivity planner notebook to write down my top priorities for every day and track my progress. It can be boring but before you know it 6 months has passed and you’ve got a lot done.
Finding the right pricing model has been challenging too. We think we are on the right path now. Our biggest mistake was we weren’t offering a free membership option. Now we do.

We publish a network of community-focused attorney directories to connect clients with attorneys who understand their culture and speak their language. We mostly connect individual clients and small businesses with solo attorneys and small law firms. We have a small and excellent team. Our oldest team member other than me has been with us for 5 years. We help thousands of clients a month right now. Hopefully, in the near future, we are going to help millions of people in their search for legal representation.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Houston is a great city for our business in the sense that Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the country. It is also a great city because of the low cost of living. I’m not sure whether Houston is the right long-term choice for us. We are in the marketing and tech industry. My experience has also been that its hard to find experienced developers here.
