Meet Niru Singhal, Realtor® – Keller Williams Realty in Katy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Niru Singhal.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Niru. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I went to school to be a Mechanical Engineer and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree. However, I never felt fulfilled as an Engineer and realized I was a more creative person than what engineering offered me. So, I went back to school to become a Graphic Designer. My experience working with clients and customers made me realize that what I enjoyed the most was customer satisfaction. I took some time off when my children were born and when I decided to re-enter the workforce I thought long and hard about what direction I wanted to take my career. With my experience in advertising and marketing I knew I wanted to do something that interacted with people on a daily basis. Real Estate was always a passion of mine and I felt that the timing couldn’t have been more right! I signed up to become a Realtor and have never looked back!

I absolutely love every aspect of what I do. I spend a lot of time attending classes, webinars and seminars to learn more about the constantly changing real estate market. I have fun meeting different people from all walks of life and learning about their story. I have made so many great friends along the way! I believe that constant communication and taking the time to really understand and listen to my clients is the secret to building long-term relationships and successful transactions. I truly enjoy the satisfaction realized when both parties have achieved their goals making it a win-win for everyone involved.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Like any business there are ups and downs. The key is not let the struggles derail you from your plan and use them as learning opportunities to motivate you to get to that next win.

This profession, like any other, comes with its fair share of struggles and stress. While being a real estate agent may look fun and glamorous from the outside, the truth is that real estate is anything but easy.

The nature of this industry is extremely competitive. Most Realtors will tell you that the hardest thing they deal with is competition and securing new clients. You must always bring on your A-game. Let it slide, even for a minute and you will miss the opportunity to another agent. The financial pressures are an added stress being a commission based job. The unpredictable income can be challenging for budgeting. Some months are rocking while others not so much!

Another challenge that makes it hard for many Realtors is the availability of online websites that provide incorrect or outdated information. Many of these sites are not accurate and can be misleading to many potential buyers and sellers.

Recently in Houston, Hurricane Harvey also created a dent in the business, at least for the short term. Sellers looking to list their houses had to pause and buyers looking to move are now re-evaluating their needs to see what makes sense. The good news is that the region’s real estate market has already showed gains since Harvey and we, as a City, are resilient and will bounce back stronger than ever!

We’d like to know more about your business.
I House Houston! I specialize in real estate sales, purchases, investment and leasing. In addition I help clients’ stage homes when getting it ready for a sale. I provide local real estate market reports and home evaluations. I have helped relocation sellers and buyers and have experience with new construction sales. I work hard to stay educated about the latest in real estate and the latest trends in our industry. I am very active on social media and aware of the latest trends around what makes house sell. I also spend a lot of time meeting lenders, builders, contractors and other industry professionals so I can be fully armed to help my clients through the process getting them the best deal.

I am most proud of my commitment to my client’s needs. I work till the job is done. Done right and correctly. I don’t take short cuts and don’t skimp the details. I pride myself in providing information in a timely manner and constant communication to keep everyone in the loop. When I got into this business, I knew right away that my focus would be on relationship building. As an attentive listener and competent advisor, I focus my attention on developing a bond with my clients and taking as long as it takes to help achieve their goals. With me you will find a reliable a trustworthy friend available for you long after the transaction is over.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
If you are in the people business, the only thing that really defines your success is happy clients. Everything else, is a by-product. Having satisfied clients who walk away from the experience knowing they won and have made an ally. That is what makes me successful. I know that if I get these things right then the rest falls in place. The main way to judge this is through my referral rate, the more referrals I get, the better the job I know I am doing. I know that my clients trust me and will trust me with people they know to also deliver the same world class service.
