Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Latham.
Hi Noah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was always interested in photography. I started off at my other job taking pictures of heavy equipment machines to document them going out on rent and documenting that there were no damages while out on rent. I then got into flying drones and obtaining my Part 107 license and really started understanding the basics of photography. I started a drone photography business mainly targeting realtors and real estate. I shifted my business and picked up a camera and started marketing myself and started cold calling, outreach, and practicing. I now have several repeat clients and have established great relationships with them.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say it’s been fairly smooth, but when starting something from scratch, you’re going to run into struggles and challenges along the way. There were a few challenges for me personally. It was navigating a new niche, learning the ins and outs of that new niche, picking up that first client, building trust around your brand and your name and learning from any mistakes. Thankfully, I had some great support from friends, family and also other photographers to help me navigate these challenges.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I specialize in photography. My business is primarily real estate photography, but I also love car photography and I do various other types of photography. What sets me apart from others is, I bring a unique creative perspective, using lighting and angles to create images that feel different and that are personal and eye catching. I’m most proud of is delivering intentional images that showcase properties, cars and experiences beautifully, But also I’m proud of how I’m able to diversify into different niches and still deliver the highest quality possible.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Yes, definitely networking! I always like to think about networking as endless opportunities to expand, grow and even meet great friends and learn from others as well. Networking is a key factor in life and in any business. At first, I was always nervous about networking and getting turned down, until I changed my mindset and started thinking that networking is an opportunity. An opportunity for potential clients, referrals or even for yourself to always learn something new.
