Meet Octavio Orozco of VRTC in Jersey Village

Today we’d like to introduce you to Octavio Orozco.

Octavio, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
VRTC got its start 11 years ago in 2006, inspired by the vision to start a Hispanic Advertising Agency. Originally VRTC was founded as an expansion of our parent company Grupo Vertice in Mexico in Los Angeles, California however as our business grew we found the need to expand and settled here in Houston, Texas. We’ve evolved over time from being a Hispanic Advertising Agency to a Multicultural Advertising Agency that helps to shape the ideas and reduce risks in the market for brands and businesses not only here in Houston but in other states as well and across the country.

Has it been a smooth road?
Being an immigrant has been a double-sided challenge in starting a new company in a new country. You have to learn and understand the business culture of another culture. Language barriers have also been a small daring challenge. However, we’ve found our authenticity has always presented us more opportunities to prove ourselves. Our motto is Simple & Personal for that very reason. We feel the future is promising and we are always evolving and growing with Houston every year and we’re happy we could pass our 10-year milestone here as part of the Houston community.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
VRTC is a marketing company that helps our clients to shape their ideas and reduce risks in their industries with quick turnarounds and quality work. Our services range from creative development to strategic research, media buying and planning and everything that is digital in-between. We originally specialized in advertising to Hispanic-American consumers here in the United States however as Houston has evolved so has our company and we are proud to say we now specialize in work that appeals to more diverse Multicultural audiences.

We are known for our client-centric philosophy, our response to high-pressure demands and our quick turnarounds. What we’re proud of is that we have clients who have relied on us and our parent company for more than 50 years and that speaks volumes for our confidence in our staffing and abilities.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think Houston is a good city to start a business and it’s privileged by its location. For a Multicultural corporation such as us, Houston presents an interesting market for launching new products to its diverse consumers.

It’s affordable enough to make investments for our clients and reduce the risks of those investments. I consider Houston a progressive environment in that it’s creating a much more diverse community for industries outside of oil, gas and energy and that creates a welcoming environment for other businesses and companies to find their home here as well.
