Today we’d like to introduce you to Quinnetta Claytor.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
With over ten years of healthcare executive and consulting experience, I have always possessed an innate affinity for helping people through their matters whether they be personal or professional. My friends, family, and colleagues always come to me for advice on “what would you do if” or “how would you navigate this situation” so it was a natural fit for me to create a business platform to positively impact as many people as possible given my unique business acumen and personal experiences. I possess a global perspective geared towards professional and personal advancement having been born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa and having resided in Iowa City, IA, Richmond, VA, Washington DC and most recently Houston, TX. Throughout my professional career with a Fortune 100 company, I have gained insurmountable experience and exposure in hospital operations, business development, strategic planning, and personal & professional development in its entirety. I represent every professional eager to expand their horizons through strategic goal setting and self-development, reflection & introspection. I launched Q. Clay to be a vessel for progressive change and positive impact in every individual that I encounter. I am passionate about transforming good people into exceptional professionals and inspiring, motivating, and empowering people across every background, ethnicity, and industry.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have definitely been struggles along the way; it would not be a true journey if there were not both triumphs and tribulations. Entrepreneurship and diversifying your income = major risk-taking! For a long while, I struggled with waiting for the “right time” to launch Q. Clay and the truth is…THERE WILL NEVER BE A RIGHT TIME! The key to successfully taking the first step to begin anything, whether it be personal or professional, is fully understanding your intellectual capital and leveraging your strengths. It is imperative that you KNOW that you possess what it takes to have a seat at the table. Be brave, be courageous, and be fearless! I also had to do a great deal of research to fully understand the ins and outs of entrepreneurship. We often glamorize the autonomy and flexibility of having a business and less often discuss the regulatory side of maintaining that business and ensuring compliance on every level. Often times, we do not openly share our blind spots and pitfalls in regard to the regulatory side of the business, so always listen, ask questions and research!!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Q. Clay Strategies & Solutions – what should we know?
At Q. Clay, we believe in transforming good people into exceptional professionals, and we provide a number of services geared towards personal and professional advancement such as resume revisions, portfolio development, brand management, lifestyle coaching, mock interviewing and motivational speaking.
I am most proud of the business’s traction, growth, and impact since its inception. Our primary goal is to inspire, motivate, and empower people across every background, ethnicity, and industry. It always puts a smile on my face when a client lands their dream job with a stellar resume or executive portfolio or a client wows the interviewer after our mock interviewing sessions. I am motivated by my clients’ growth, results, and testimonials, which is reassurance that I am in alignment with my purpose.
My relatability, compassion, emotional intelligence, and my ability to see potential in everyone set me apart as an executive coach. With over ten years of experience in diverse, relational industries, I am able to identify clients’ strengths, develop personal and professional confidence, pinpoint opportunities for improvement and help clients elevate to capitalize on their strengths at any given moment.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
• Success = having confidence in yourself and your own journey
• Success = pinpointing what makes you exceptional
• Success = having the desire to wake up every morning and inspire others to be great
• Success = respecting the process. A process involves several steps, levels, valleys, and peaks for a reason. Within the process, there will be lessons. Within the lessons are where the true gems lie. The lessons develop a good person into an exceptional leader.
To be successful, one must understand the power of timing/momentum and take advantage of the momentum and elevation when you enter that season. To be successful, one must understand the power of authenticity and truly being yourself.
