Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Beitler.
Hi Paige, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I graduated from Columbia College Chicago in Photography, where I found my calling creating and capturing life’s moments. While in college, I was a studio manager/photographer for Classic Kids, which is a luxury black/white film photography studio. I knew working with children would be something I do, for the rest of my life.
After college, I photographed athletic events for D1 and D2 Universities. I also was a photographer for Time Out Magazine and Chicago Woman’s Magazine, photographing events, ads, and articles. Although this was great fun, I did not feel the passion/connection in doing this long term. Shortly after, I took an opportunity to move and landed in Houston, Texas!
While in Houston, I had the opportunity to photograph over 150 weddings, both large and small all over the state of Texas. This was an incredibly rewarding, and fast paced environment, but still not ringing the ultimate passion/purpose bell.
While shooting weddings, I began to take on small business branding clients, and also do some occasional weekend shoots for “Fame Parties.” Over the course of 5+ years, I have worked with over 30 small businesses and learned a great deal in what makes a great business thrive long term. Fame Parties started off being just a fun thing to do, when not shooting weddings. Who could have known, one day God placed Fame in our hands to purchase!
I have photographed businesses such as SugarMama Shimmer, Christina Greene Jewelry, Sweat 1000, and Margarita Mercantile. Recently I have began working with Texas Highways Magazine, shooting their retail brand ads. Our first piece of work was published this September!
In July, I received a text message from the founder/previous owner of Fame Parties, asking if I would be interested in chatting about purchasing Fame from her. The next morning, we setup a call, and made our move!
We purchased Fame Parties late August of 2021, and quickly got to work on enhancing this already well established business. Families host Fame Parties in their home or on location in 5 cities across Texas, with plans to expand into other cities and states beginning in 2022.
When I am not behind a camera or leading Fame, you can find me with our 2 dogs, Piper and Archer, volunteering for Rescued Pets Movement, or planning new travel experiences with my husband Bret, dogs, and friends. (That’s how I became the Chief Fun Officer!)
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I truly believe everyone’s path is paved through challenging experiences. I’ve had both professional and personal setbacks which have defined who I am today.
I’ve had my equipment stolen from my own car the night before a big wedding, had to pivot and borrow equipment the morning of. Wow, what a whirlwind of emotions with this one.
I’ve had to part ways with clients due to fundamental differences in how people should be treated, giving up lucrative income to follow my gut/heart in what is right for my future.
Moving from Chicago to Houston and creating an entirely new client base/brand took 5+ years to finally feel I made the right move.
As you know, we’re big fans of Fame Parties. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Fame Parties are designed to give families the opportunity to have a professional photoshoot in a fun, low-pressure setting with one of our talented Star Photographers.
What better way to have a photo session, than to bring a PARTY to you, your family, and friends. We will bring a photo studio to your home OR at a location of your choice, while you host your family and friends. Every 15 minutes a new family gets their 15 minutes of Fame in front of our Star Photographer.
During your shoot, we will capture between 60-100 images which will be edited and delivered in our Fame brand style (Edited with Fun & Enhanced colors.) Your images will be delivered in a private gallery 4 weeks after your party and you will be able to purchase a package, download prints for 6 weeks. After you purchase your package, a link will be emailed to you. You can download/share, order prints/cards/albums directly from the gallery site.
Why go to a studio, when you can have the studio come to you? Your friends & family can feel comfortable/confident in your home or location of choice during their 15 Minutes of Fame session.
