Today we’d like to introduce you to Pastor Joshua Daniels.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began preaching at age six and became the Senior Pastor of my first Church at age 19. two years ago, I planted Freedom Worship Assembly in Houston, TX, to build a Church for people who have given up on Church but haven’t given up on God!
I am currently the youngest Senior Pastor in the city of Houston, and I am committed to Glorifying God, Building People, and Impacting the World! I’m the father of Jarrington M. Daniels and Joshua M. Daniels, II.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a Church is never easy, but God has allowed my journey to be easier. I began our Church with over 100 members that followed me from a former pastorate, and beginning with that many people was a great blessing. However, we have had our challenges. For the first year of our ministry, we worshipped in a School and a Hotel before God blessed us with our current facility.
Moreover, this journey has been amazing! We’ve seen people saved, members join the Church, we’ve been able to help many people in our city and beyond through outreach, and continue on our mission of “seeing the world set free through the life-changing power of Jesus Christ!”
Freedom Worship Assembly – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a Church for people who’ve given up on Church but haven’t given up on God! We have designed a home for those who are unchurched or have had negative Church experiences. We are Church built on Prayer, Word, Worship, Outreach, and Community Development. We don’t think we’re a better Church, but we are intentional about being a different Church! A Church with a Taste of Tradition and a Flavor for the Future! Freedom is not this or that, but rather this AND that! We are intentionally intergenerational and there’s something for you no matter your age, race, or socioeconomic status!
We currently offer three weekly worship opportunities on Sunday’s at 10 am, our Prayer Meeting on Monday Nights at 7:00 pm, and our Mid-Week Worship on Wednesday’s at 6:30 pm. Our Worship Opportunities are offered IN PERSON and Online!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I have been blessed to preach all over the world, receive awards and honors, and currently serve as the youngest officer ever appointed in the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America. However, I am most proud every Sunday to stand as the Pastor of Freedom Worship Assembly!
