Today, we’d like to introduce you to Pastor Louis Dorsey. Pastor Louis was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Kathy Phipps.
Pastor Louis , can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am native of Houston,Texas raised in the southeast section of the city. I am a graduate of Milby High School. I am the third child of four siblings i was raised by both of my parents. I retired from Coca Cola as a truck driver.After several battles with alcohol,drug use and being incarcerated i was called into God’s Ministry and in July of 1997 i begin my journey as a Minister at Second Church Christ Of Holiness in Houston,Texas. I was later called to Pastor Peoples Community Crusade Church in the impoverished Fifth Ward community for several years and then God took me a little further into His Ministry and Blessed me to Pastor once again for True Faith Church in Baytown,Texas March of 2000.
I was given a vision and a revelation from God,in August f 2008 to start a new Ministry and God spoke to me through The Holy Spirit to name The Ministry “On The Road For Christ Outreach Ministries”
The revelation for this Ministry is to solely be focused on men and women who incarcerated doing long and short time prison sentences.I never blinked or wavered i accepted God’s assignment and begin to spread the word to other members of the Clergy.I ran into some obstacles as well as nay sayers who would close doors in my face, not knowing that God had Ordained me to do His will to bring His Word to those behind prison walls,to bring hope to those who lost all hope and lacked in their Faith,and to those who society had given up on. I Trusted in God and Believed in His Word “Hebrews 13:5 I will never leave you nor forsake you” I then begin to approach the prison system and share God’s vision,again i was met with hurdle after hurdle ,road block after road block.
God’s vision came to pass in July of 2012 ,God’s Ministry was granted access to several prison units in Southeast,Texas which are the Stringfellow Unit,Ramsey 1 Unit Ramsey Trustee Camp,Carol Vance Unit,Eastham Unit and the Estelle Unit to Preach The Gospel of God.
Over the years the vision has attracted several dedicated men and women of God who now active members in the Ministry assisting me to reach thousands of men that are incarcerated.God’s Ministry “On The Road For Christ Outreach Ministries is now active five different prison units on a weekly basis , Preaching The Gospel ,Teaching Leadership Classes,Counseling Offenders,and Providing Prison Wide Marriage Seminars.
I am a dedicated Husband to my Lovely Wife Michelle and our eight Children .
I am active in The Community and is always willing to share The Gospel of God with all who are Diligently Seeking a Relationship with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!
We’ve heard great things about your organization. For our readers who might not be as familiar, can you please tell them about the organization?
Our organization is a Outreach Ministry where we travel all over spreading The Gospel according to Jesus Christ! What we do is get outside of the four walls of the building and go out and seek the lost soul’s that want to come into The House of God that are afraid to come in because they feel like they want be accepted as they are. What set us apart from others is that we don’t turn know one away from coming into The House of God no matter what their issues are! I am most proud that our Ministry Team has Compassion,Love and are willing to meet the concerns of the unfortunate one’s in The Communities!
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Kathy Phipps and Back To Eden Fellow Program and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Back To Eden Fellow Program.
My experience working with Ms.Kathy and her organization was a Blessing being able to volunteer my time to assist her with doing Outreach in The Communities giving out different types of donations to the unfortunate ones.
