Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul Mcgee.
Paul, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a West Texas native I been out in the Houston area for about 2 years in total. I first started off solely as a hip-hop artist which is kinda how I first got introduced to photography. I would always ask a bunch of question during photo and video shoots about how certain things work or why certain things were done certain ways. The more I learned the more I found an interest in the craft and lead to me purchasing a camera about 8 months ago.
Lately, things have been definitely picking up a bit more my most recent accomplishment was a shoot I did with tobe and fat nwigwe which for sure got things moving. As for future plans, I definitely have major plans to do so more amazing work with some of the top influencers in the city as well as building my own brand.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, not at all it has been a crazy ride but I never complain my grandfather always told me to enjoy the journey without the rain you wouldn’t know sunshine. Coming from a background of domestic violence as a kid to dealing with things that come with chasing a dream is honestly nothing. The struggle to get is what makes the story so great.
Lifepicturesmusic – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a creative director I specialize in bringing peoples visions to life through photography. I have to say the most proud moment I have experienced is seeing the reaction of the customers when u give them that final product. What sets me apart from other photographers is that I myself do music so I have a more in-depth understanding of what artist need.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is waking up a better person than u were yesterday with that mentality good things will come.
