Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Stoltzfus.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Daniel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
For as long as I can remember, I knew I was going to run my business. A lot of it comes from my upbringing. As a child, it was ingrained in me to question everything and make my own path. I didn’t always know what I wanted to do, but I knew what I didn’t want to do; work a 9-5 job.
It took me a few failed opportunities until I found my niche. Once I did, I realized how much work it takes to grow something and make it profitable. There were definitely nights where I wondered if it was all worth it. In the end, if I was going to work this hard, it better be for my business, instead of someone else’s.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say a smooth road. Like every business, we have had our ups and downs. For me, the biggest struggle was and is being able to stay flexible with the ever-evolving marketing landscape. When I started my company, online wasn’t really a thing. Now, it’s the biggest platform we use to drive traffic. I always remind myself to not get complacent or comfortable, because something new might come around that will change the consumer industry again. If that happens, I want to make sure I am able to capitalize on it.

Fort Knox is the premier home & small business security company in the Houston area. We combine low cost police & medical monitoring with great local customer service. With over 30 features, we cover everything from the security basics all the way to complete automation systems.
I would say the thing that I am most proud of is the way we treat our customers. We take a little longer approach in our sales process with the main intentions of making sure that we are able to figure out the customer’s needs. We have seen a lot of success with this method. We have honest conversations with our customers and that honesty has allowed for a better process for everyone involved.
Furthermore, we are heavily involved in the local community and beyond. We donate to multiple local philanthropies as well as support our own charity, which is called Life4Kenya.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Absolutely. Houston and the big cities in Texas are growing so quickly right now. In a lot of ways, our roads and even houses are struggling to keep up. The new people coming to our lovely city and state have allowed for a unique opportunity where people are wanting and needing to spend money.
