Hi Priya, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had a love for baking. My husband, Nilay, and I got pregnant at the end of last year and my baking naturally stopped due to nausea/aversions/different cravings. We unfortunately lost our baby at 5 months pregnant which has caused us the heaviest grief. I quickly started baking and found that it felt very therapeutic and brought me lots of comfort. My husband has encouraged me to start baking as a business for years. It wasn’t until recently our heartbreaking loss that I also felt the drive to do so. I desperately needed a fun way to channel some energy. It is safe to say that this is our passion project that has helped us cope with our toughest of times.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our journey has been relatively smooth. We both have full time jobs that keep us quite busy. Our biggest challenge is finding ample time to market ourselves on Instagram and through other avenues. We hope to keep spreading the word!

Food is My Muse cookies has been a dream come true for us. We consider ourselves to be a local cottage bakery that specializes in gourmet cookies. Our cookies come in two different sizes – our regular 2oz size and our giant 6oz size. Our cookies are unique in that they hold a very soft texture on the inside while being just crisp enough on the outside. We load and top them with a variety of ingredients that create a vibrant and flavorful experience. We are most proud of our flavors. The thought and effort we have put into them really shines through!

We believe that passion has been the most important quality for our business. Being passionate brings you the determination and drive to work hard and to keep striving for more.
