Priyal, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have been a former business journalist for over 14 years and have worked in senior editorial positions in global business news networks – Bloomberg TV and CNBC TV in India.
Prior to moving to Houston, I was the Associate Editor at Bloomberg TV in India. Over the years, I have had very insightful, comprehensive and diverse experience in covering multiple sectors of business, understanding the dynamics of markets and economy, policy making, legal and regulatory landscape. As part of my profession, I was interacting with policymakers, regulators, financial world doyens and entrepreneurs. Be it big or small, I have covered many companies and industries in different stages of their growth cycle. All this has helped me understand the nuances of business and being constantly updated on events around that could impact business. On the other hand, being a communicator, I have developed a keen news sense, proactively addressing evolving situations and creating relevant, concise, informative, impactful content.
In my business, I am marrying my learnings from covering different businesses and my expertise as a communicator to assist startups and entrepreneurs across the spectrum in their outreach and communication strategy. My aim is to take one big and important task off the list for entrepreneurs to enable them to concentrate on their business and leave the outreach plan on me. My tagline is ” Your communication partner” and I have chosen the word partnership consciously as I believe that it brings a level of trust, confidence, responsibility, and commitment towards a common goal. I want to walk together with my clients towards their vision.
I left my job as an editor due to a personal setback. After my maternity leave in 2016, I resigned from my job as my daughter was born with a rare heart disorder that needed medical assistance at all times. Unfortunately, after a month of my resignation, my daughter left us and as we were dealing with our emotions, my husband got an opportunity to move to Houston for work. We accepted the opportunity in order to kind of reboot our lives. My husband and I have dedicated a part of our lives to financially support lives of kids born with heart defects through a project in the memory of our daughter.
All these personal circumstances led to me taking a plunge into satisfying the entrepreneurial bug that I was nursing for a while. It also enables me to dedicate and divide the time for working on my daughter’s project.
And now I am able to pursue my passion for assisting entrepreneurs yet being able to work for a cause that is very important to me.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
So far, it has been a smooth road.
In today’s world, technology has made the world your market. I have had clients who are expat themselves looking to set up their venture in new destinations.
I have clients who are not even in the same city. For example, I work for a client in San Francisco for their outreach plan in Africa sitting in Houston.

Of course, in the ever-evolving tech world, one has to be abreast to constantly evolve with changing dynamics to be relevant and offer the best services. I wouldn’t say it as a struggle but more a part of today’s way of business.

Priyal Guliani LLC partners with entrepreneurs to be the “One Stop Solution” for their communication needs. We create and implement customized plans using multiple communications tools and platforms for assisting entrepreneurs in their business development, outreach, and visibility. We provide customized communication and business development plan, strategic advice on business positioning, press and publicity plan, speaking opportunities and training, event ideation and planning and social media strategy.
We have been able to address different client needs especially some businesses at a very nascent stage of their existence with outreach, press visibility, launch events, and social media strategy. We have also been able to get press exposure for clients on a different continent.
With a deep understanding and a decade-long experience as a communicator, I am able to leverage on my ability to connect with people across the spectrum who could be a potential fit for the clients be it VCs, business collaborators, press, etc. And at the same time, assist my clients with creating the right pitch and telling their story to the world in an impactful manner.
