So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my career with KPMG, one of the big four accounting firms in the world but soon realized that accounting was not something I was passionate about. I decided to tap into my inner entrepreneurial spirit and put my passion to work. I wanted to build something of my own, so my husband and I started a diamond jewelry export business. We flourished, but somehow I felt I hadn’t found my true calling.
Being a people’s person, and someone that’s always been passionate about interior design I knew I could use this passion and expertise, the experience in sales and the love for people successfully in the real estate industry. And here I am helping people navigate through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life is just like a graph, it has to have the ups and downs. Its never a smooth ride but what makes it challenging and interesting are the bumps that come along. You learn from them and come out stronger and wiser. I look at these as opportunities for reflection and growth. Every challenge in life is a learning opportunity and brings with it a blessing of some kind that makes you more of who you are meant to be.
I think my biggest struggle so far has been managing a work-life balance, with no fixed work hours in our line of work it can get a little overwhelming but I’ve been plotting some personal time which has helped a great deal. Also, with every transaction, one works with a different set of people in the industry and not everyone has the same dedication or work ethic I do which can be challenging but that motivates me to work harder on my client’s behalf and help them achieve their goals.

Like any other realtor in the business, I help people with buying, selling, investing and leasing properties. Being an interior designer, I also stage homes for clients who are in the market to sell their homes. But for me it’s not just about helping clients buy or sell a piece of real estate, it’s about helping them design the lifestyle that they want through home ownership and also through creating wealth by investing for investors. It’s more than just a transaction, it’s a life-changing experience for most. That’s what excites me about real estate.
I’m helping people with a major transition in their lives, whether it be moving to a bigger home, nicer neighborhood or downsizing, retirement, a divorce, or even a lost job. Not only is this one of the largest financial decisions, it’s also a very emotional one. And to be a part of this important journey in someone’s life is very fulfilling. I think it’s the obsessive-compulsive focus on my clients that sets me apart from others and I pride myself in being able to make long lasting friendships with all of them.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I can’t pinpoint just one such moment that has made me proud. You know real estate is not an easy job, there’s late nights, early mornings, no weekends and various other challenges. But the payoff is that you get to spend your days working to help people make their dreams come true. And every single time that you do that for your client, and see them get teary-eyed and emotional while expressing their gratitude is a proud and fulfilling moment.
