Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachael Wade.
Hi Rachael, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into this field is deeply personal and profoundly professional. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and a doctoral candidate, but long before the titles, I was a parent navigating the realities of raising a child with an Autism diagnosis. That lived experience changed the way I understood mental health, development, and access to quality care. I saw firsthand how fragmented integrated care services were for families, and I knew I wanted to be part of the solution.
I began my career working across both mental and behavioral health settings, supporting children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. Over time, I developed a strong clinical focus on neurodevelopmental differences, emotional regulation, and behavioral functioning, particularly in individuals with Autism and ADHD. What stood out to me was how often these strengths were overlooked in favor of deficits, and how many clients lacked care that truly honored their individuality.
That realization led me to create Remarkable Abilities Collaborative, PLLC (RAC), a virtual private practice serving clients across Texas. The practice was built on the belief that meaningful progress happens when care is accessible, affordable, and tailored to the whole person. We provide individual therapy for children and adults, comprehensive mental health evaluations, behavioral and developmental screenings and parent coaching. Our services are designed not only to support diagnosis and treatment, but also to empower our clients and families with clarity, tools, and confidence.
As a clinical mental health practitioner, I remain committed to using evidence-based practices, ongoing research, and clinical expertise, while never losing sight of the human story behind every referral. Today, Remarkable Abilities Collaborative stands at the intersection of clinical practice, advocacy, and compassion, helping individuals and families achieve mental and emotional wellness, leverage their strengths, and move forward with intention.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to building Remarkable Abilities Collaborative has been meaningful, but it has not been a smooth journey. Like many purpose-driven practices, it was created in the middle of challenge, learning, and growth. Balancing the demands of being a clinician, a doctoral candidate, a parent, and an entrepreneur required resilience and an unwavering belief in the mission. There were moments of uncertainty; building a practice from the ground up, and ensuring ethical, high-quality care while expanding services across Texas in a virtual space.
One of the greatest challenges was pushing forward in a system that is not always designed with neurodiverse individuals or families in mind. Access to timely evaluations, affirming care for those clients with Autism and ADHD, and consistent mental health support remains limited for many communities. Seeing those gaps up close was difficult but it also strengthened my resolve to create something different.
Each obstacle became an opportunity to refine the vision of RAC. We learned how to adapt, how to listen more deeply to our clients’ needs, and how to build systems rooted in flexibility, compassion, and evidence-based practice. The challenges didn’t deter us, they shaped us. Today, RAC stands as a reflection of perseverance and purpose, grounded in the belief that meaningful care can grow even in difficult circumstances. What makes the journey worthwhile is knowing that every challenge overcome has allowed us to show up more for the children, adults, and families we serve. And that makes every step no matter how hard; worth it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Remarkable Abilities Collaborative, PLLC?
Remarkable Abilities Collaborative, PLLC is a virtual mental health practice created to meet people where they are. We walk with our clients through some of life’s most complex mental and behavioral challenges. We proudly serve children and adults with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, life transitions, behavioral concerns, and the stressors that come with navigating work, relationships, and familial obligations. At RAC, we believe mental health care should never be one size fits all.
Our practice offers individual therapy, comprehensive mental health evaluations, behavioral screenings, and parent coaching all designed to bring clarity, direction, and empowerment. Many of the individuals who come to us are seeking answers. Parents want to better understand their child’s behaviors. Adults want language for what they have been experiencing for years. Others are simply looking for a safe, affirming space to be heard without judgment. What sets RAC apart is our ability to blend clinical expertise with genuine human connection, ensuring that every client feels seen beyond a diagnosis or symptom list.
As a virtual provider serving individuals and families across Texas, Remarkable Abilities Collaborative eliminates many of the barriers that often prevent access to quality mental health care, including long waitlists, provider shortages, geographic limitations, and scheduling challenges. By offering affordable services and sliding-scale options, we ensure that compassionate, high-quality care is accessible regardless of income, insurance status, or personal circumstance.
In alignment with our mission of accessibility and community support, we host a free monthly virtual Parent and Caregiver Empower Hour for families of children on the autism spectrum, as well as free monthly support sessions for parents who have experienced the profound loss of a child. These offerings create meaningful spaces for connection, shared learning, emotional healing, and practical resource-building, while fostering hope, resilience, and empowerment.
Through these services, individuals and families who might otherwise go without care are able to access timely, ethical, and affirming mental health support. Our approach is intentional, evidence-based, and deeply rooted in person-centered values, with a particular commitment to honoring and uplifting all individuals who have often felt unseen or misunderstood within traditional systems of care. We emphasize not only healing and skill-building, but also the cultivation of strengths, resilience, and untapped potential.
Brand wise, I am most proud that Remarkable Abilities Collaborative stands for compassion, accessibility, and excellence. This is a practice built on integrity, lived experience, and a commitment to doing the work with care and intention.
What I want readers to know is this. Whether you are a parent searching for answers, an adult quietly struggling, or someone who suspects there may be more to your story, you are not alone. Support is available, clarity is possible, and meaningful change can begin here. Remarkable Abilities Collaborative exists to help you move forward with understanding, confidence, and hope.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality that has been most important to my success is resilience. My commitment to progress and change extends beyond myself, I simply want to help others achieve their goals, set boundaries and recognize their true potential within. That value shapes every decision I make, from how services are delivered to how barriers like affordability and access to care are addressed.
Additionally, leading with intentional compassion allows me to balance clinical excellence with humanity. It guides how I work with individuals, children, and adults who may have felt misunderstood or overlooked in traditional systems of care. It also fuels the resilience required to build a practice rooted in purpose, especially when challenges arise.
At RAC, success is not measured solely by growth, but by trust. When clients feel safe, understood, and supported enough to take their next step forward, that is the true measure of impact. Intentional compassion is what makes that possible.
