Meet Ramiro Armendariz of RamDigitalDesign in Stafford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ramiro Armendariz.

Ramiro, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My name is Ram Armendariz, and I am a digital media specialist who makes branding, marketing, and storytelling materials to create meaningful relationships between clients and their customers.

Clients hire me to aid them in establishing a brand identity, efficient marketing plans, and meaningful marketing content to connect them to customers. In my passion for art and design, I mix beauty and function to show how creativity can be used to communicate great ideas.

You can be sure that I can create content with the right impact that will deliver the right message to the right audience with a SMILE.

At least that’s what my professional pitch would be if we met in a business setting. My name is Ram, and I’m an artistic guy who loves art, colors, and Kanye West. I grew up with my love of art cultivating through all the video games and cartoons in my childhood. The vast amount of art styles, animation, and characters that filled up my TV screen made me passionate about drawing. It amazed me to see people create amazing works of art across different mediums with shows and games such as Spongebob, Danny Phantom, Avatar, Halo, and Spyro being some of my favorite. I figured I always wanted to show the world what I can create with my mind and hands.

It’s crazy to think about creating all of this work for hours on end to not show anyone what I can do. You occasionally have to flex what you got right? Bringing SMILES to people’s lives is what it all boils down to for me. I can go on and on about myself some more, but I can just do that on my social media haha.

I would say that the biggest inspirations in my art are Kanye West, Keith Haring, Kaws, Lorde, and Tyler, the Creator. Music and art have the biggest impact on me right now in my life.

Has it been a smooth road?
There have been some bumpy moments in my creative life that slowed my work down. The months of non-active creativity had left me wasting away my skills, and just being passive with what skills I can learn. Then, sometimes I would have a burst of energy to tread back to where I left off and learn a little bit more. It wasn’t helping, and I wasn’t going anywhere with my art. There would be moments in my life where I felt lost.

However, once I graduated high school, I decided to get serious about what I wanted to do in the future. I still didn’t know what exactly what path I would take, but I knew I had to pick up my skills in different forms of art. I learned how to create technically and creatively with graphic design and illustrations. Learning how to market me and create game-plans on how to market myself was essential. Finally, learning some business lessons and skills didn’t hurt either.

Today, I’m a graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in digital media. I’m pretty much happy with what I learned and who I met in college. I wouldn’t be here today without the past four years. The best thing about everything is that I can help launch different creative careers for people with the content and work they need to market and sell. RamDigitalDesign is the name of my freelance brand.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Right now with RamDigitalDesign, I’m currently working on part-time commissions for 2019 building up my work with different clients in Houston. These are people who are looking to get a jump start on building their careers. I can start with a simple idea or message and create a strategy for my client to know what content they want to use, how they want to deliver their content, and who they will deliver it to across the country.

The different services I offer are branding strategy creation, social media content strategy, UX/UI design, photography, content creation, and illustration/art.

I’m just a friendly artist who wants to do everything and have fun with it. My personality is probably what most people know me by besides my name and hair.

All love to everyone who has supported me then and to those who will in the future.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Houston is just big. You can survive in a specific region in Houston that you research carefully. It’s a double edge sword that separates us, however. The art community has different pockets in each area of Houston, so people are one person away from knowing someone else. I think the best solution is building a better public transport system that brings Houston closer and gives us a break from the cars that gives us stress.
