Today we’d like to introduce you to Randall Davis.
Randall, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I met a jewelry wholesaler through a mutual friend and we instantly hit it off and he asked me if I ever thought about being a jewelry salesman because he loved my personality. He originally hired me to work for him but then I asked him about branching out on my own and he was behind me 100%! Then shortly after that, I created Gator’z Gold and Grillz in August of 2017 after only being in the jewelry game for two months. It was rough at first but we’re coming up on our 3rd anniversary and the company has truly grown far beyond my expectations and still has a long way to go! I remember the first grill I did was for two women I met via social media. Once they posted the grill, I had a little bit of everything reach out to me from locals with jobs to actors, pro athletes as well as entertainers. We went from just doing custom Grillz to now offering everything from necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and even custom jewelry!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I ventured out on my own in August 2017 and didn’t sell my first grill until February 2018. It was hard trying to get people to trust my work taking it I was the new kid on the block.
Gator’z Gold and Grillz – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We sell all jewelry at affordable prices as well as offer custom designs, no matter if it’s a necklace, ring, or grill. My main specialty would have to be the gold and diamond grillz because that’s most definitely kept us going and how we built our name around the city. What sets me apart from others is that I’m easily accessible. I’m not hard to get in contact with, as well as having some of the best prices!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me would be once I’ve reached a level to where my children can take over and run the business for me. I’ll continue to work hard until that happens and we have a long way to go.
