Today we’d like to introduce you to Randeep Suneja.
Randeep, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 1978, I joined the #2 Medical School in India Maulana Azad Medical College at the age of 17, I was blessed to graduate with Top Honors receiving my Medical Diploma from Noble Prize Winner Saint Mother Teresa and a Gold Medal from President of India Gyani Zail Singh. I started my practice 25 years ago with a $ 52,000 loan, one employee and Zero Patients.
With Blessings from God, Family and Friends and tremendous Passion and Dedication along with Intense Hard work and focus, I can proudly say I have totally loved my journey having helped over 60,000 patients in this amazing time period.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, my Journey has had many ups and downs. The initial six months were a tremendous challenge due to the financial stress. Later on time management was very important due the fact I was traveling to multiple hospitals leading to extremely long hours. For more than a decade and a half, I usually slept merely 4 hours a night, that too with interruptions. Being a solo Interventional cardiologist is very demanding but my passion to help my patients has given me the strength and energy to work crazy long hours.
For the past five years, I have two awesome partners Dr Pai and Dr. Desikan who have been a tremendous asset to our practice giving me the flexibility and time so that I can pursue my hobbies including running and raising money for nonprofits like Pratham, reading, and traveling and also giving me the greatest gift of time to spend with my family. I am currently working on writing a memoir.
