Today we’d like to introduce you to Ray Dominguez.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a young kid I got introduced to the bbq world started going to numerous cook offs and back yard BBQ’s. Cooking has always grabbed my attention and I stuck with it, but never did I think I would have the bug for it! I started off selling underneath a canopy tent on the side of the road and going to small events hoping people would stop and try our barbecue. In 2015 rays Texas smoke barbecue was established and it slowly built its name since then. After many years of hard work and dedication we were finally able to purchase our food trailer and take things to the next level. We are now well known around the Houston area and making appearances throughout the metro area to have everyone taste what is rays Texas smoke barbecue.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In this industry there is no such thing as a smooth road. If there was a clear path way to get to where the BBQ kings are, EVERYONE would do it.

The company as a whole is well known for its homey feel. With that being said what sets us apart from all the BBQ places from our area is the LOVE that is put into our labor.
What were you like growing up?
I always knew I wanted to own my own business my grandparents are my BIGGEST INSPIRATION. I was always outgoing a people person! Fast to start a conversation.
