Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Stillwell.
Hi Rebecca, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Boudoir Photography is raw, vulnerable & an intense type of portraiture. I began shooting every genre but Boudoir in 2014. I have always been a very confident woman, I am not perfect, I am not the image society has painted women to be & for that, I believed that I was meant to empower women as a career. In 2020, I invested in my education regarding Boudoir photography. Took endless trainings, workshops and then I saved up money to open my studio & launch Untamed Boudoir by BeccaLee Portraits. On November 20th, 2020, I announced my grand opening & since then, my business has grown so much. I change women’s lives everyday and that is something I get to cherish. Society is so hard on women, and I am here to photograph all women in whatever stage of life they are in. I remind them daily how gorgeous they are, what others see & I am blessed to be a part of their self-love journey’s.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning a business has been the hardest thing I have ever done. There are lots of tears, however, it is by far the most rewarding career I have ever had. To be frank, most people write off photographers as someone who just picked up a camera for fun. I am one of many in a community of Boudoir Photographers who are well trained and educated and run real businesses because we are REAL!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a full time Boudoir Photographer and own the only Luxury Women’s Empowerment Studio in Beaumont Texas. I have clients that travel from all over Houston, Austin, Dallas & beyond. I am known for my ray of sunshine attitude in changing women’s lives. Everyday, I change lives. I am most proud of my studio and what I stand for. I empower women! I own a company at 28 years old! I am breaking generational curses. I am telling women everyday that it is OKAY to love the skin you are in. I spend my days running my Private Women’s Only Facebook Group of currently 4.2k members(BLP Boudoir – The Untamed Self Love Club), it’s like a virtual hype team you have 24-hour access to. Women supporting Women! It is amazing, and I finally found what I was meant to do in this life. What set’s me apart from others is Luxury. I offer a one of a kind experience that you will not get anywhere else. Professional Hair, Makeup, Lingerie, Posing Guidance… The Works! All you have to do is show up & be unconditionally loved for a day by my team & I.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Find your people & love them hard. If you do not have a support system, you will not have a thriving business or mental space. You have to take care of you before taking care of everyone else.
