Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Regina Nguyen.
Dr. Nguyen graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2008. She worked for different optometrists in the Houston area to gain more clinical and real-world experience for a few years. In 2013, she had an opportunity to open an optometry office next door to Sam’s Club in Pearland, the office was called Shadow Creek Eye Care. She grew the practice and enjoyed seeing the wonderful patients for 3 years. In 2015, another opportunity came up in the Clear Lake area, so she opened a private optometry practice with an optical. She has been here full-time for the past year and loves her job and her patients.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was a big learning process for the first couple of months after we opened. Dr. Nguyen and her husband, Simon, stayed at the office many late nights learning and catching up. We didn’t have any prior optical experience so we had to pretty much learn the basics of ordering frames and lenses, billing and coding, etc.
Please tell us about Optical Edge.
Optical Edge is a private optometry practice with a full-service optical boutique. Dr. Nguyen performs diabetic and routine eye examinations for glasses and contact lenses. She is also a therapeutic optometrist who can treat eye conditions and injuries, prescribe medications and perform foreign body removals.
Our priority is to provide our patients with the best possible eye care and vision correction. Our expert staff will take the time to discuss different types of eyeglass lenses, contact selections and frame styles to improve your vision. We have the most up-to-date equipment in order to keep your eyes healthy.
We carry many high-quality, independent frame lines. You can find brands you won’t find at other opticals such as Mykita, SALT, State, and many more.
