Meet Rendell Mitchell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rendell Mitchell.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
From as far back as I can remember, I know that I’ve always been fascinated with colorful images and physical works of art. Growing up without many friends you learn fast that you got to find ways to entertain yourself, luckily for me I’ve always had a very active imagination, add some artistic ability and then you have some figurative fire.

I experienced being mocked and ridiculed for my artistic projects at an early age, so I developed a thick skin very early and also learned how to run on self-motivation. Having a lack of support helped me to become a well-rounded artist which stands to show that sometimes a negative situation can bring positive results. Through my artistic journey, the first thing I started to really make my hobby was editing images and adding graphics.

Later, I began to create videos as a form of visual storytelling. I even went on to create an Independent Film titled “Baytown’s Finest.” Finally, I added photography to my repertoire and now I use all three skills together frequently. I’m currently doing photography in the Houston area, and I hope to develop new visuals that are unlike anything that has been published before.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Absolutely not. There are countless struggles that I have faced. One of the struggles that I’ve faced has been working with people that have no intention of working as a team. I’ve come across plenty of opportunists that could care less about anyone else but themselves and will gladly step on the necks of anyone they come across in order to achieve their goals. A struggle like this can easily become a setback. Another struggle has been a lack of resources and funding, many large scale projects require expenses that usually would require a sponsor if you are not born into wealth.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
My photography and visual arts business is currently focusing on providing services for families and events. I specialize in creating special visual effects and designs that are separate from ordinary photographs.

I’m known for some of my past work with local actors and entertainers. I’m most proud of the fact that I choose not to represent myself as an inauthentic imitation of an already successful company. I feel like what sets me apart from others is that I haven’t made my content become predictable.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Well, first I’d like to credit God for anything good that has ever happened in my life. I’d also like to thank these people: my wife, my mother and a handful of awesome people. If some people think that I may have forgotten to mention them, they actually were mentioned but in a different section of this interview. I believe I used the phrase ” willing to step on necks.”
