Rene’ Chlumecky – Founder & CEO Ageless Serums My career path has been anything but linear .
We all know of the person who knew exactly what they wanted to be when they were young, unfortunately that was not me. Thanks to my father, a family practice physician , I grew up with a strong interest in medicine. Math and studying were not my strongest attributes. At Drake University, I thought law school was the direction. Graduated went to law school and within the first term knew that this was a terrible decision. One thing I knew from early teens was that I was good with people ,… I excelled in communication, relationship building and presentation of idea. These strengths became the foundation of a dynamic career in medical sales and evolved into my entrepreneurship journey.
So my journey to where I am today is an accumulation of many medical based companies Remember the expression , I’m a salesman but don’t tell my mother. My family was never pleased with my career path.I began in pharmaceutical sales where I gained a solid grounding in clinical science, product knowledge and strategic selling skills. I loved reading the clinical papers and being able to highlight important clinical facts.Knowledge is the bases to build credibility . From there, I advanced through roles at industry leading companies including Polaroid ( radiographic processors ) , Medtronic ( cardiovascular implants ) Coherent ( surgical Lasers ) , Vida Med ( RF devices ) Cynosure ( aesthetic lasers ). These experiences not only deepened my technical expertise but also earned me multiple Salesman of the Year Awards , Presidents Club , management positions and the privilege of working alongside world renown surgeons like Dr Denton Cooley.
An epiphany occurred after a bad experience with a manufacturer, that’s when I said I can do this better . In 2014 , founded Ageless Serums llc , a Texas based manufacturer aqua based serums formulated for hydra dermabrasion treatments in the medical spa industry.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The challenge of a loss Smooth road and hard times, like life , a roller coaster ride. When you are at the top and can do no wrong , success makes for peace of mind, security to support the family , internal satisfaction . Then there are periods when I couldn’t sell ice to an eskimo.You start to question your abilities, self worth, lack confidence , career choices. In my mid 30’s , I spent a month with my father as he had carotid surgery, had a major brain aneurysm and never recovered. That really hit me hard , I lost my focus, my purpose and direction.
2. The challenge of Indepence Before Ageless Serums , I started a distribution company , which sold IPL’s devices, microdermabrasion devices , hydro dermabrasion plus other cosmetic products. The next step towards total entrepreneurship finally launched. Working directly for companies has great benefits but if you are in sales , it’s performance driven profession. Why not have the courage to take the responsibility totally upon myself, the next step in my career.
3. The Challenge of keeping the company
Starting the company was challenging because the entire company was built on a concept. I spent a year touring manufacturing companies to learn and educate myself. It was amazing as to the different standards of operations. The concept developed from finding a chemist , formulator ,which serums, ingredient deck , design, website etc… After about 5 years , the major competitor decided that Ageless Serums had grown too big and needed to be eliminated. The legitgation is the punishment. A true David verse Goliath battle . Years of legal battles , costing millions , finally getting a settlement and the company is still alive. Ageless Serums would not be in business today without the loyal supportive customers. Many are more than customizers but friends who encouraged me to continue .Today each obstacle has reinforced my commitment to quality, customer care and resilience. Ageless Serums stands as a testament to what’s possible when you combine clinical insight, entrepreneurial grit and a relentless focus on excellence.

Houston has such a diversity of cultures. I love the food variety, restaurants for whatever craving you have. Haven’t found a Slovak restaurant nor great Chicago Uno’s deep dish pizza. Traffic is the worst .Houston streets need major work.
