Today we’d like to introduce you to Rene Sorola.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Rene. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in Del Rio, TX. I come from a pretty humble background, but I was one of the lucky ones because I had an amazing up bringing from my Mom and Dad. I went on to graduate from A&M and took a corporate job, here in Houston that I absolutely hated.
So when a buddy approached me with a real estate investment opportunity, I jumped on it! Long story short, we ended up making a profit of 60K, which we split between the two of us. I was hooked! Shortly thereafter, I decided to get my real estate license.
At that point I joined Keller Williams Metropolitan as a part-time agent, still holding down my safe secure corporate job. I was determined to make real estate work. I received both the KW Met “Rookie of the Year “and the regional rookie of the year award that same year (2006), and I’ve been in business as a full time agent ever since.
Has it been a smooth road?
Running your own business is never a smooth road. I would say the two biggest struggles I’ve faced have been finding the right talent, and the time I’ve had to sacrifice with my family. My biggest priority, is being a good husband and father, sometimes that has conflicted with the responsibility I have to my company, employees and clients. But if you can manage to stack your team with talent, then your time is suddenly leveraged and you’re able to be more present in your personal life. The two struggles have gone hand in hand.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Rene Sorola Properties – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a residential real estate company, and we specialize in making what can be a very stressful process, a seamless one. We’ve been consistently ranked within the Top 25 Real Estate teams with Houston Business Journal since 2010. I’m extremely proud of that record in and of itself, but what that really means to our clients is that we have a proven track record of delivering results.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
With so much diversity and opportunity in Houston, anyone can come here and achieve success. As for what I like least; the humidity of course!
