Today we’d like to introduce you to Renecheia Robinson.
Renecheia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Actually in high school, I said I wanted to open a Greek Store but that was truly wishful thinking. Years later, I needed to buy some Greek paraphernalia and there was nothing in the entire city of Houston. That’s when my vision became a reality. I reached out to my linesister (Lunita Anderson) who creates shirts for our line. We are proud memberships of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Asked her did she want to produce the graphics and I handle the day to day business and that’s how LS Greeks was created! We got where we are today with hard work, dedication, and the support of our linesisters, family, friends, and SWAC, my fellow alumnus of Grambling State University, and AMAZING customers.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been easy but we have truly been blessed! We have become an overnight success and we thank the Lord everyday. We started this journey in April of 2016. Did our first Pop-Up in December of 2016 and open a brick and mortar in February of 2017. The first year I took 100% of my time to build the brand. We would do any event that dealt with the Divine 9 Sororites and Fraternities or HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). We became the number one Greek Store in Houston. However the more success you have, the more obstacles comes but we have maintained our integrity and loyalty to our customers.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Linesisters Greeks and More – what should we know?
Linesisters Greeks and More is a clothing boutique that specializes in African American Greek paraphernalia and Historically Black Colleges and Universities merchandise. I am most proud of the success of the business and brand! It’s an amazing feeling when you see people wearing your shirts on social media and in different states and countries like Jamaica! What sets LS Greeks apart is that fact we create our own designs and our shop is a loving and welcoming environment.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The qualities that are most important to our success is hard work and dedication. You have to breathe, eat, and sleep your business to make it work. Also continuing to create new designs and products to stay competitive and viable. Most importantly making sure the customers are appreciated so they can continue to come back.
