Today we’d like to introduce you to Reyie Delgado and Kaylen Gonzalez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Reyie and Kaylen. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Cirque La Vie started in 2013 In Houston Texas. Reyie had just finished working with major circus companies around the US and wanted to start his own circus, so he felt his childhood home (Houston) would be the best choice. Reyie moved back to Houston and started scouting out talent one by one looking for the perfect people that he would later train and mold into Cirque La Vie.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a challenging road due to the fact that Reyie had done all of this on his own. But he never gave up and never allowed the difficulties of financial struggles and stumps on the road that life threw at him. Buying equipment, finding a training facility, scouting artist, getting venues to accept circus arts, and also coaching everyone to a level he is happy with has been all very hard. Still today the challenges are there but at least Reyie has all of us now to tough it out with him and reach that dream.
Cirque La Vie – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We have a circus school and a circus performance company. We do it all from teaching to putting on shows! Due to Reyie’s very well and high coaching history every one that comes to Cirque La Vie knows that they are in the only place that is a legit circus and that we offer the highest level classes and have the most advanced artist as well. We welcome anyone and everyone as long as they smile and are ready to run away to the circus.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
We like to say that our proudest moment has been every time we do a show and our client and our audience are both so happy to see us and meet us.
