Meet Riot Muse

Today we’d like to introduce you to Riot Muse.

Riot, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always been a storyteller, even from youth. I didn’t talk much until I was about in the 3rd grade. I guess you can say that I was a late bloomer (in almost all things). I began telling stories in about 7-8th grade when I joined “Speech and Debate,” I would then discover my knack for storytelling. I would do quick impromptu stories for competitions, even went as far as singing “I Believe I Can Fly” by R. Kelly during an Alief Taylor High School Tournament. I also guess you can say that I’ve always been in the arts. And I always loved it there.

However, my knack for visual storytelling came when my dad bought me my first point and shoot in 9th grade. I shortly became glued to a device to best illustrate just what I was feeling. Soon after high school, I went on to college where I got a degree in Photojournalism (English was the major before switched to Photojournalism. But it wasn’t until after I switched my minor (after Photojournalism, switched minor to English) to Fine Art: Graphic Design that I found my calling.

I was able to be this multidimensional being that can mix both my love for imagination, photography and graphic design into one. And, here I am.

Has it been a smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road. Life has its ups and downs. Struggles are to be expected.

But I would say, acceptance was a big struggle of mines for a long time, but it came down to be unhappy. So, I made a choice, and here I am.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Riot Muse is a limitless brand. We specialize in everything as far as creative direction, branding, photography, beauty, fashion styling, and graphic design. I am proud of its individuality. We’re a little weird. Haha.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Def not. We need a new and improved Art Hub for unconventional individuals like Riot Muse. A place where it’s kind of ANTI-everything, and it’s free expression, no matter what that looks or sounds like.
