Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Lihalakha.
Hi Rob, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I actually first got exposed to the mental healthcare and the home healthcare industry from my mother. When I was in high school she worked at MHMRA & I needed volunteer hours for the YES program. During every summer I would volunteer at MHMRA. In the beginning it was more clerical than anything else. But after like week two, I got to see some of the scenarios, meet some of the participants in the various state ran programs and I became very eager because it was a shell shock to see some of the personalities and outbursts. I also learned some of the behavior patterns of persons experiencing mental health issues. From there I continued on with my curiosity in college by minoring in psychology alongside my Kinesiology H&HP Degree and McNeese & that was all she wrote.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Well as smooth as it can be. I have a spirit of optimism so no situation or circumstance has really ever rocked me or my faith but I’ve seen it all. I would say though that structuring the business as well as setting up the infrastructure is harder than actually (running the business) dealing with the participants in our industry. I’ll say this though, hiring and dealing with employees is the hardest part of running a business. Everything else just kind of comes with being a boss and managing personnel and personalities.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Every thing I do on a daily basis is a risk. A calculated risk, but nonetheless a risk. I think it’s important to bet on yourself and your abilities. I’ve been pretty confident my whole life and always good at what I participated in or showed up for. No matter if you are a 9-5 worker or an entrepreneur, it’s all a risk. I’m just at the front of my decision making and not depending on anyone else’s planning and decision making you know.
