Today we’d like to introduce you to Rodney Samuel.
Rodney is the founder of Xtreme Fitness Unlimited and a Fitness Coach with 10 years of experience in Wellness Training, Conditioning Training, Sports Training, as well as six years of spinning experience. He has worked with several pro NFL athletes, pro soccer athletes and intercollegiate athletes to enhance their speed, agility and quickness. However, his specialty is working with clients that want to become physically active and live a healthier lifestyle.
He is very passionate about helping others. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science accredited through the (ACSM) American College of Sports Medicine and a personal certification with the (NASM) National Academy of Sports Medicine. He utilizes his formal education and fitness skills to help motivate clients and deliver high quality service. His skill level allows him to train with clients one on one, in small or large group classes and large boot camps.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Although the road has not been smooth or straight, I appreciate the lessons I’ve learned along the way. When I first started my business, I ventured into a joint partnership prematurely that was not evenly yoked in vision. The short-lived partnership ended and I had to recreate my brand and stay true to my business model. Another obstacle that I’m sure most trainers deal with is the ability to keep clients motivated. Clients want the results. However, most clients struggle with the notion that in order to get results, they have to change their lifestyle. So, in order to help motivate my clients I try to keep workouts creative yet challenging at the same time. Additionally, I provide healthy nuggets of information that they can use to make better choices, thus leading to healthier eating habits. Once my clients make up their mind and are willing to put in the work, they become more conscious and accountable for their decisions.

We are fitness coaches involved in exercise prescription and instruction. We motivate clients by setting goals and providing feedback and accountability to clients. We also measure our client’s strengths and weaknesses with fitness assessments that will provide us with enough information to uniquely custom design each workout program. What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is directly related to meeting your goals, whatever they may be. When setting goals, I always encourage clients to set realistic and measurable goals. Once their goals are set, I then ask, “What are you going to do to ensure your success in meeting these goals? Those goals should include both nutrition and maintaining an active lifestyle. Clients that are successful in meeting goals are the clients that are aggressive, consistent, and knowledgeable.
