Today we’d like to introduce you to Roi Alan.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Starting off I received training at a few great salons in Houston before deciding to open the salon with my business partner Travis Player. We actually worked at previous salons together and collectively decided that we wanted to open a salon that included the best aspects of each place we were at previously.
Has it been a smooth road?
Thankfully we have a supportive following of clients and an amazing group of friends that have encouraged us along the way. With any business, there are always experiences you learn from. With this being my first business I feel that it’s been a pretty smooth road.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Tease Color & Style Bar story. Tell us more about the business.
The salon specializes in Balayage. It’s a French style of highlighting that is applied freehand. I am still a stylist at the salon. Spending four days behind the chair. I am very proud of the team we have built. All talented and accommodating. The salon is set up to create a social atmosphere. The interior is designed by Moxie.
A high-end interior design group here in Houston. All aspects of the interior are modeled after the Hotel lobby’s around the world. As traveling is my favorite thing to do.
Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years? Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
In the next 5 to 10 years. I see salons as still being a getaway for both men and women to take some time for themselves. There’s a thereoutic aspect to receiving hair services.
Spending time with your stylist who becomes a confidante and friend. Salons will be as popular as they are now. The hair Trends. Techniques and technologies may change but space itself will still be thriving
