Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosaline Abiodun.
Hi Rosaline, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Rozzyn’s Kitchen, LLC was born on September 24, 2016, over 8 years ago. Before I started the business, I was a Pre k teacher in a Charter school and also doing my master’s degree at the same time. When it was time for my practicum, I either continued working and delayed my graduation or complete my practicum and graduate that same year because the hours were clashing. So, I made a tough decision of completing my practicum hours in order to graduate on time, and because I don’t like being idle, and i’ve got a huge passion for cooking, I decided to start a small business making Nigerian shawarma, Sorrel drink, and Chapman drink. I made samples and had some of my friends and families tried them, the feedback was profound. So, I created an Instagram account where I made the announcement and that was how I started. Initially, the business name was Rozzyn Shawarma. However, I had a revelation in January of 2022 to rebrand and expand my menu, so I adhered. The name of the business was changed from Rozzyn Shawarma to Rozzyn’s Kitchen. As the business was growing, I was expanding my knowledge as well, and because I have always loved the creative world, I was able to carve a niche for myself.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t. Catering businesses face a myriad of challenges. Sometimes I feel like deleting all my social media accounts and just being away for some time, but I can’t as a serial entrepreneur. However, one of the struggles I faced in the beginning was building a client base. Attracting clients when you’re just starting a business can be extremely tough. Building a recognizable brand takes time and consistent effort, especially in a competitive market. So, I had to network and also depend on word-of-mouth recommendations, and worked extremely hard to showcase them on my social media platforms.
Another struggle is logistics. Catering business requires meticulous planning and coordination. The logistics of transporting the food to the event safely, sometimes there might be delays in the shipment of the equipment for setup, and staff to various locations can be daunting. Ensuring timely delivery and setting up is a constant concern for me because any missteps in logistics can lead to delays, customer dissatisfaction, and financial losses.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’m a woman of faith who believes so much in prayers and scriptures from the word of God (Bible). I speak the word of God over my life and businesses daily which I wasn’t doing initially but learnt overtime that the power of death and life are in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21), and one thing I can attest to is that the word works. I try not to bask in the negative.
