Meet Roxanne Jone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roxanne Jone.

Roxanne, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I certainly enjoy life through my taste buds. As Julia Childs summed it up: “people who love to eat are always the best people”. Food is not simply what we eat; it’s something inspiring, inventive and delicious. There is nothing better than having your whole family and friends around the dinner table sharing a meal together. I started my food blog to showcase the different food cultures in the surrounding Houston area. It was a struggle but I am very thankful to each and everyone that has supported my page since the beginning. You guys are the reason behind my page and success!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Struggle is inevitable; nothing ever comes easy especially when you are trying to build towards your dreams. Obstacles will be your constant companions. Developing a positive mindset and staying grounded helps me overcome some of the challenges. It’s amazing the number of quality people I met by sharing the love of food. I have gain new friends that inspires me and shares their knowledge and it makes it an easier journey.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I consider myself as a food enthusiast because of the emotional attraction I have for food. I want to bring these positive moods through my camera lens. It brings me great joy to be able to help local businesses gain new customers and locals acquiring interest in international food. I am really excited about incorporating my love for food and my dream to help serve the homeless outdoors. I want to be able to offer free meals for the underprivileged and homeless on a regular basis. I am thrilled to announce that I will be selling merchandise and the proceeds will provide meals to the homeless people. I look forward to everyone’s continued support.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
A person’s success is infinite. I believe we make our own luck by our perseverance and passion. There is nothing more motivating than reminding myself the purpose of this blog. It’s crucial to remain in touch with what inspires me. Knowing that I can help local businesses and the community helps me to keep going! You could say that you can make your own luck with hard work.
