Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
If I’m being honest, it really just started with a thought that I couldn’t shake. As cliche as it sounds, my passion is to become a voice of tranquility and authenticity, which is rare in this climate. Even though “The Ride Along Podcast ” is a movie-based Podcast. I use it as the first stepping stone in the path of what I know is my calling. Plus I feel more Black Americans should embrace our inner “nerdy” cinephile!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
A major struggle has been getting the black community to support the podcast. As I often say there’s a stigma in the black community when it comes to fiction movies. Sadly If it isn’t a “black trauma”, or a stereotypical, Tyler Perry, drug, gang-related movie most of us aren’t interested. Of course, it gets deeper than that but that’s a conversation I’ll save for the podcast.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an Electrical contractor by day and a Videographer/Editor by night. Yes everything you see connected to “The Ride Along Podcast” came from my brain and fingertips. I’ve also done work for other creatives around the city.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I absolutely detest everything about eggs. The smell, taste, texture, all of it. If I had my way it would be removed from the breakfast menu.
