Meet Sabrina Miller-Kimble of Pearland Innovative School of Beauty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Miller-Kimble.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sabrina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in a family full of hairstylists. Both grandmothers and my aunt were Cosmetologists who loved hair and fashion. As I grew into my teen years, I found myself being influenced by the latest hair styles and trends. I would experiment with peroxide, Kool Aid, and food coloring to change my hair color. I began to be my own model, whatever I see in the hair magazines is what I created for my friends and I. Once I graduated from High School, I attended Houston Community college for Cosmetology. Once I obtained my Cosmetology license, I thought “This is it”. However, as I began to gain more knowledge and work in the same salons with new stylist I instantly knew my purpose. Students were graduating from cosmetology school with little or no real salon experience. The lack of technical skill and business building skills motivated me to want to get my instructors license and give back. So, 16 years later here I am.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Some obstacles or challenges have been just trying to come up with new ideas to keep students motivated. Also, ensuring that the students understand all the possibilities in the cosmology industry. And the number 1 challenge is making sure that the students understand resiliency and to never give up.

Please tell us about Pearland Innovative School of Beauty.
I am the owner and the operator a Beauty school. We offer programs in Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Student Instructors. Our program focuses on giving individualized attention to each student. We also have a very large and diverse clientele that prepares students for the salon expectations. I am most proud of the number of students who have obtained their Cosmetology Licenses and have started a new life. What sets Pearland Innovative School of Beauty apart from other schools is the passion behind the Vision.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I could start over I would have opened my own school years ago.
