Hi Sally, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started this business from the ground up alongside my husband, driven by a simple but powerful goal I wanted our family together. My husband worked long hours in the chemical plants, and I wanted our children to see their dad more. Over the past three to four years, our love for coffee and especially matcha grew into something deeper.
When I was pregnant last year, I had to give up coffee because of gestational diabetes, so I returned to making matcha at home. That’s when I discovered how many flavors I could pair it with, creating drinks that were delicious, vibrant, and guilt-free. After having the baby, my desire for a different lifestyle for our family only got stronger.
What began as a personal passion turned into something bigger. I took a leap selling from home, at markets, and at private events. And from there, our vision kept expanding. Today, we’re building something that not only fuels our creativity and love for matcha, but also gives our family the future and togetherness we dreamed of.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve had to learn to balance a lot at once, being a mother, a wife, staying active in church, and helping care for my grandparents, being the oldest daughter of the family , all while building a business from scratch. There were days I felt stretched thin, moments of doubt, and times when life felt overwhelming.
But even in the hardest seasons, I’ve been grateful. God has truly given me the strength, clarity, and endurance to juggle it all. Every challenge has shaped me, grounded me, and reminded me of why I started. And looking back, the struggles have made the journey even more meaningful.

Casa Matcha is more than a matcha bar, it’s a family-built, community-driven space rooted in culture, quality, and intention. We specialize in ceremonial matcha sourced directly from Japan’s first harvest and craft drinks that blend tradition with creativity. Alongside our matcha and coffee offerings, we partner with talented local vendors to bring in artisanal croissants and specialty cookies that match the quality and love behind every drink we serve.
What sets us apart is the heart behind the brand. I’m incredibly proud to be a Latina business owner, carrying the strength, work ethic, and resilience my family brought with them when they immigrated to the United States from El Salvador. That legacy motivates everything I do.
Our mission is simple: to serve our community with excellence and to create a space where everyone feels safe, welcomed, and valued. We pour love, pride, and care into every detail, from the drinks we craft to the experience we offer, because we want every person who walks through our doors to feel like they matter. Even though we know we can’t make every single person happy, we try our absolute best, and we never let anything get in the way of showing up for our community.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to truly live in the moment and stay grateful through every season, the rough, rocky days that test you and the days that make you feel on top of the world. Both are blessings and both shape you. I’ve also learned not to let negative feedback discourage us. Instead, we stay grounded, stay authentic, and keep showing up as our most genuine selves!
