The Samy Jo Band started more than two years ago with a little more than a dream and five strangers and has now grown into a booming entertainment family of 5-8 rotating band members, a variety of genres, more than 10k followers and fans and an ever-growing online and live social media presence…
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing worth anything is easy, especially in the live music industry, yet through the downsizes, financial struggles, creative differences and venue issues that almost every band goes through, The Samy Jo Band has made from coal to come out shining bright like a diamond.

The Samy Jo Band is one of the few live, cover variety band serving Houston and surrounding areas specializing in a variety of genres including country, classic rock, blues, neo-soul, r&b, the 80s, pop & rock, disco, Motown and current hits. What’s sets us apart from the rest is our dedication and commitment to providing quality entertainment to all audiences.
What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?
The proudest moments of my career are when I’m onstage playing music with some of the most talented musicians in Houston at a venue where we are appreciated enough to be booked repeatedly.
