Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Perez.
Hi Sandra, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My husband, Joe and I started as young parents to 2 boys struggling to raise our family. We’ve been married since 1991 and in the late 90’s after several small jobs here and there Joe landed his first job that would change everything! He was referred by a mutual friend to work as a maintenance Tech at apartment complex we lived at with no experience. That’s where he got his experience in HVAC and Electrical. In early 2000 he started working for an HVAC & Electrical company for residential and commercial services. The owner taught him so much more and became his mentor. Few years into the booming business the owner suddenly passed away leaving it to his family. Eventually they had no choice but to close it down. Fortunately with Joe’s experience he found a job quickly there after as the building Electrician for a Hospital in the Heights. He worked there for several years and wasn’t very happy he started to notice many employees working there for 15 to 25 years suddenly being let go. Losing their jobs after all those years! He then realized no matter how long you work for a company that could happen to him as well. That’s when he started to think about going out on his own, he took night classes to for his HVAC license, He got his contractors license thru TDLR and then by 2009 studied for his Master Electrician license. During that time I got his first AC business cards made and he was doing side jobs on his own installing AC systems with the help of our 2 sons. In 2010 he passed his Master Electrician license and he took the leap of faith and started his own company with the encouragement, love and support from his wife and family! He taught our boys everything in the field of electrical and AC, they eventually ventured out on their own as Electricians in the plants doing very well and raising their own families. They still help their dad when they have extra time. I gave up working in the beauty business which was my background for several years to commit myself 100% in keeping it business flourishing and our customers happy. Most of our business are thru referrals we do our best to provide them with affordable quality service they can trust! We treat our customers like family and we are so grateful for their continued support in choosing us as their HVAC and Electrical company!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We have definitely had our challenges throughout the years. Especially during COVID. The only marketing we could afford was going out passing out business cards, flyers and getting involved in local events. We’ve also struggled in finding good experienced helpers and keeping them on board due to slow times in the business the jobs are not always constant. We’ve struggled with our old vehicles breaking down but somehow thru it all we always pull thru. Our faith keeps us going!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Starting your own business takes alot of patience, hard work and determination. Don’t expect to make money overnight, just do your very best, keep your head up and don’t give up! There are 3 words we encourage our team on a daily basis and that’s, Teamwork, Organization & Communication “TOC”. It really works!!!
Joe didn’t have alot of patience when he started and if it wasn’t for the support of his family he said he probably would have given up.
