Meet Sandy Heard of Prime Waste Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandy Heard.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was approached by a friend to assist them in the line of the industry I am in today. After leaving the corporate world working long hours, I settled off with no employment and a hope to find my new inner peace. When I was approached about 6 months after leaving the waste industry to assist a friend, I didn’t know at the time this would in my new future.

I began getting referrals and slowly formed Prime Waste Solutions, a consulting company to focus on clients waste & recycling services. My previous 20 years I worked directly for waste hauling companies so being able to use my experience to assist my clients is rewarding. Our goals are to reduce overall spending, reduce carbon footprint and increase their sustainability.

I am one of six children raised by a father & mother that left Mexico with little to no money, spoke no English, and a hope to live the American dream and build a new life. My father is one of 12 and at a very early age had to work at a boot & shoe repair shop to earn money to help feed their family. This became my father’s dream and for over 55 years was an Entrepreneur himself running a shoe repair and boot making business.

As I began my own business struggling with whether I could do this; I kept thinking back on my father who did it!

Today I am more confident and excited about what the future has to hold! God has blessed me in my journey, so with grace and determination, I seek more growth!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road along the way has been bumpy for sure. I am a sales/relationship type person, but don’t want to be too pushy. Starting from zero, needing revenue in the door, sales is everything. Being a new business, no one knows your phone number or know you exist if you don’t get the word out – so now, put on the marketing hat!

It’s been tough and at times I wondered if this was His plan for me? Do I keep going, do I stop, what do I do? All I can say is after tears, sleepless nights, and lots of prayers I worked through it. There are still struggles, but I am learning daily to improve, learn and grow.

Prime Waste Solutions is a waste & recycling consulting company where we focus on reducing overall spend for our customers. We are a true consultant managing all aspects of their waste and recycling services to our customers can do what they do best in their field. We provide complete customer support for services, billing, monthly auditing and reporting for them.

We are proud of the customer base we have today and the references they give to new prospective clients. That says it all. We know that customer service is an attitude, not a one time experience. We want each one of them to say we exceeded their expectations.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
We operate with honesty and integrity in everything we do for our customer. We work for them as if we are another employee looking out for their bottom line and business.
