Today we’d like to introduce you to Scottie Clinton.
Hi Scottie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started singing and dancing with “The Parliament Funkadelic” group as a freelancer at the age of 15; then, one day, I was offered to do a paid world tour in 2013. I started as a backing vocalist, then became a lead vocalist performing multiple solo songs with the band backing me. Now, I’m also a fashion designer/stylist for myself and my stepfather, George Clinton. Recently One of my fashion pieces that I customized for George landed in one of the world’s largest fashion magazines (W Magazine) and also on TMZ. I also acted in my first movie with Wiz Khalifa playing George Clinton in s movie titled “Spinning Gold.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a single mother and having to be tour and build my career and fan base has always been a challenge for me, but God always seems to make a way to make things possible.
I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in giving 1000% of my loving/fun energy each and every show while making costume changes with clothes that I handmade. I am proud of singing Atomic Dog with Mary J. Bridge, Anderson Paak, and George Clinton on the movie “Trolls World Tour.” What sets me apart from others is my purpose within what I do. I’m not doing anything for self-gratification; it’s all for my plans to help the younger generation! Imma real superhero!
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Living in the present moment, spending time with my children, family, friends, and helping others while continuing to be successful and expressing myself with fashion and individuality makes me the happiest. Mono Neon has really inspired me and has been a really great friend that supports my growth with music and fashion the most he recently gave me his Signature Fender bass, and I started playing bass, drums, and the alto Sax.
