Today we’d like to introduce you to Segev Zadok.
Segev, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Our family has been in the jewelry industry for many generations. While it was not expected of us to join the business, we were exposed to the business at a very young age. All 3 of us (Jonathan, Segev and Gilad) really enjoyed the business, the industry, and working with people in general.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have been struggles over the years. Navigating the ups and the downs, and that of the economy, whether it’s an energy crisis or a financial crisis- just running the company conservatively to reach the other end.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Zadok Jewelers story. Tell us more about the business.
We’re very proud of the longevity of our business. We’ve been in the same location for over 40 years, and we have serviced so many families/generations throughout the years. We’re proud of building a great reputation in Houston, and across the globe.
What sets us apart from others is the close family touch. We have one location, so at least one family member is going to be around day-to-day to greet our customers. We are very hands-on. Being able to curate special designs, using stones from around the world and providing a great value to our customers sets us apart.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
My parents moved to Houston, and I think choosing this location where we are today (in the heart of the galleria) was luck. The galleria has been built up so extensively over the years, and is somewhat the heart of Houston.
