

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sehar Tejani.
Sehar, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always loved party planning since I was a young girl. I used to plan everyone’s birthday parties, events at church or parties for my barbies! As I grew older, party planning became my hobby and something I just really enjoyed to do. I love seeing people have a smile on their face when they get to an event and they love everything about it. I like being the reason behind that smile.
In college, I was a part of the Student Event Planners Association and we did a lot of planning for different events. I was a PR major and president of PRSSA while in school and that meant I got to throw lots of small networking events. I never really thought about making it a career.
I graduated and got a job in Communications and Social Media since that was my “forte”. It wasn’t until 2016, when I was working for a company in social media that I met my role model, guru and someone who I really look up to and is a definition of a real life #GirlBoss for me. She encouraged me to make something out of event planning and stop dreaming and make it happen!
So, I did! With the grace of god, my family, and some really close friends I was able to launch Bliss Event Planning in 2016!
Since then, we have seen lots of up and some downs but I am so blessed to have Bliss with me today, it is a blessing for me. I love what I do and it encourages me to work harder each and everyday. Every time I leave an event I am exhausted but when I see a smile on my clients face or get a text next morning, telling me how much they loved their event, how stress free it was for them I know I did my job right. I enjoy being an event planner because it allows me to bring a smile on someones face.
Bliss encourages me to work harder then what I did yesterday to look forward to the future. We are still very brand new and this is just the beginning, we have so much more to do.
My hobby became my baby and is my Bliss.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not been smooth sailing but if it was then what would I learn, right? There have been months where we have had no events and times where people do think I am too young and not enough experienced to be there event/wedding planner. Which I completely understand and that makes me want to work even harder and to prove to them that I may not have 10, 20 or 30 years of experience under my hand but I do promise you I will make your event flawless and put in my all that you go home happy after your event.
This motivates me to work even harder to show people that I am what they are looking for in an event planner.
Bliss Event Planning – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are an event planning company. We do weddings, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, birthday parties, gender reveals and much more. We would like to widen our horizons and get into corporate events and hopefully if things work out we will be doing that really soon (fingers crossed)!
We specialize in weddings and have a wide variety of experience within them, specially South Asian weddings!
We are known for being perfectionist whether it comes to an event for 50 people or 500 people we will put our all into it.
I am so proud of us as a Team (company) to step into the event planning industry at such a competitive time and to get success in such a short amount of time. We still have a long way to go and this is just the beginning.
Each client of ours is not just another client but we become like family since we spend so much time making their event special and stress-free.
We want you to enjoy your wedding, enjoy your event, enjoy your party. We are here, so we can take that stress away from you. Every client to us is special to us and we treat each client as family. At the end of the night, when a client comes to us and tells us they enjoyed their event so much and we made it stress free for them, that when we know we did our job right.
We are different because we have a unique way of looking at things and our clients. Each event we do is special for us and we have a fresh and creative mind since we all come from a creative background. Many times most event planners deliver the same thing to each client, we make each event unique to our clients and you will never see us repeat anything (unless our client asks for it). We offer a lot for a budget that fits everyone’s needs.
For us, it’s quality over quantity.
We’re a small team of three very passionate and hardworking people that have similar goals, adding two more to our team this year hopefully. So, we can all work together as a team to make Bliss an even bigger success. My team is my motivation to work harder then I do everyday.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me means more than money and power. It is being at peace within myself. When I know I did better, then the best becomes the best. I may not have accomplished everything I set out to but I know I put in my all. I might fail but I will never stop trying. When I know that at the end of the day, I have to be humble and kind.
