Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanacee Miller and Desiree Stewart.
Shanacee and Desiree, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When I (Shanacee Miller) started out, I was just a fellow helper for another solo housekeeper. Which still til this day I help out from time to time. After her being my mentor I learned so much and wanted to branch off and create a company I could build and retire from. Which I learned wasn’t as easy as I thought. I worked as a personal housekeeper for many years with several different helpers through the time but no one to build with.
In late 2016 I met my business partner. She was a solo housekeeper with the same goals as I had we instantly clicked. I sent her business and she did the same for me. After we both saw what we were able to do we teamed up and went all in became a business partner in 2017. Our clientele became very diverse, ranging from single bachelors to large families, elderly clients, and even construction sites. From life experience, hard work and the desire to do the best we could to help people we were able to form and create R.C.C. Professional Cleaning.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It is always challenging starting a new business and you learn a lot along the way, both personally and in business. Getting our name out there and gaining clients trust was an obstacle we faced in the beginning. Luckily, a lot of our business is a referral and from word-of-mouth. If we can create a positive experience for a client and make them happy, our greatest compliment is them referring us to their family and friends.
One huge struggle we recently shared with everyone in our community was the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. We worked around-the-clock helping our clients and donating our time to them and others in Houston. We walked into so many of our client’s homes that were destroyed. We shared their pain but also found it our responsibility to help and let them know we cared and were there to do anything we could to help them get back on their feet.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with RCC Professional Cleaning – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We started from nothing and have built a fully functioning cleaning service that is Houston-wide. Our services include daily, weekly and monthly cleaning of single family homes, condos, apartment buildings and commercial spaces – there is no space too large or home too small. Our ability to manage properties and still keep a family-like rapport with our clients makes our relationships much stronger than those of other businesses who, at times, can basically be strangers.
My partner and I visit all the properties, and you will see us doing the dirty work alongside our employees. A big challenge this year was losing my mother to breast cancer. She was a best friend to not only me but my close friends and family too. Something we are very proud of at R.C.C. Professional Cleaning is that we donate a percentage of our monthly profit to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in honor of my mom, LeAnn Doyle, and others who have lost their battle to this disease.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We have many goals set for 2018. As we get through this year with a small struggle and have been rebuilding our fellow neighborhoods. We hope to keep helping people and become a stronger company.
