Thanks for sharing your story with us Shaneice. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a full time nursing student, working part time and my time is limited, so I need to eat on the go if I can. The idea started as just a meal prep for myself. I brought it to the gym with me for a post workout snack, and a friend at the gym wanted to try one. The following day I brought it and he loved it. From there, I knew I had to make this good tasting jar something more. It’s quick to make, packs the gains anyone would need, and it’s delicious. The feedback I’ve gotten has been so great. The business has just spread by word of mouth. It’s become a nice source of income but it has also taught me so much about my creative capabilities and how far I can really go if I set my mind to it.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The hardest thing about the business is definitely doing it on my own, and being limited to how much I can do given the schedule I have with school. I initially did it so I could have multiple sources of income but as I saw the business grow, I now look at it as something even bigger than just a jar. I want to see this business grow even greater than what it already has.
Please tell us about The Good Jars.
The Good Jars, is a great source of nutrients for breakfast on the go, a post workout snack, or even a meal replacement. They come in different flavors from the berry mix with strawberries and blueberries to apple and grape flavors! The jars a made to order, daily, so it’s all about fresh ingredients. I take pride in the choices of ingredients I use. I wanted something with great taste and a blend of textures, but also healthy. The jars work great for those trying to pack on a few pounds and even better for those watching calories to lose. What sets this jar apart from any other is its versatility. I have clients who customize their jars to meet their fitness goals and that’s what really pushes me to create even more flavors and add ons for the jars.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Just growing up in such a loving home. Eating at the dinner table, sharing those conversations. Looking back, I cherish the life I had more today, because it’s rare.
